SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee confirmed the worst Monday afternoon that starting quarterback Preston Stone broke a bone in his leg and will be out for the remainder of the season.

The injury occurred in the first half of the Mustang’s win over Navy. Former South Oak Cliff quarterback Kevin Henry Jennings is set to start his first collegiate game in the AAC Championship game against Tulane on Saturday.

"(Stone) had an appointment with a specialist to confirm what we all feared is he broke his lower leg and so he'll be out for the remainder of the season," Lashlee in a conference call ahead of the title game. "Really unfortunate for him was having a fantastic season and may have played his best two halves of football.”
