These TXHSFB Teams Have the LEAST Returning Offensive Starters in 2026

0 Returning Starters

Cedar Hill TLC

Kenny Wooten led the Tigers to their first winning season (8-3) in UIL public school competition (Cedar Hill TLC forfeited all games played in 2024 after an 8-1 start). Last year, Cedar Hill TLC returned 11 starters. This year, they will return none.

That doesn’t mean the cupboard is bare. The Tigers have two exciting junior offensive linemen set to start in Boly Oloyede (6-foot-4, 295 pounds) and tackle Caleb Moore (6-foot, 295 pounds). Wooten says Oloyede has Division I talent, while Moore is a team leader who will play both ways this fall.

Sophomore QB Aiden King (6-foot, 175 pounds) played extremely well as a freshman backup and now takes the reins full-time.

Ore City

Coach Justin Arnold improved the Rebels from 0-10 to 3-7 in his first season at the helm. If Ore City is to secure its first winning season since 2018, it must grow up fast under the Friday Night Lights. The Rebels technically have zero returning starters, but senior QB Blake Johns (5-foot-11, 180 pounds) earned Second Team All-District in spot duty last season.

Crystal City

Coach Desmon Battle’s squad is 18-5 over the last two seasons. The Javelinas’ 10-2 record was the best season since the school began playing football in 1920. The next phase of Battle’s warplan to bring Crystal City into state-contending relevance is learning to reload.

Battle will start by moving senior Felix Luna (6-foot, 155 pounds) from cornerback to quarterback. The hope is that his experience in the secondary, with five interceptions in 2025, can help him read defenses at quarterback.

Lake Dallas

Jeremy Males will be in his first year as Lake Dallas’s head coach, but he’s no stranger to the program’s culture. Males was a Lake Dallas assistant from 2003 to 2018.

Lake Dallas has quietly produced five NFL players, and Males believes there’s plenty of talent on the roster. Senior QB Cash Davis (6-foot-3, 185 pounds) had flashes of brilliance in spot duty with 749 yards and six touchdowns. He should benefit from a more pass-heavy offensive scheme. Luke Males, a move-in from Glen Rose, could be his top offensive weapon. Males (5-foot-11-inches, 170 pounds) earned District Offensive Newcomer of the Year as a freshman and was a First Team All-District performer on both sides of the ball as a sophomore. He had 41 receptions for 572 yards and nine touchdowns, to go along with three interceptions on defense.

Princeton

Princeton’s 6-4 record last season was the highest win total since 2015. Now, the Tigers must replace record-setting QB Marcus Flowers (Beloit). Sophomore QB Ayden Hughes (6-foot-2, 160 pounds) will lead the new-look Princeton offense. His main target will be WR Jayden Rogers, the lone returning starter. Rogers had 28 catches for 321 yards and two touchdowns last fall. Keep an eye on TE Joshua Flowers (6-foot-1-inch, 240 pounds), a versatile athlete who Coach Ervin Chandler describes as having great hands and sneaky speed.

Refugio

Refugio has not won fewer than 10 games in a season since 2005. If the 2026 Bobcats are to sustain the streak, they’ll need to quickly find an identity under new head coach Eli Boxell. The good news is that Boxell is familiar with the pride and tradition of this South Texas power. Boxell has been a defensive assistant on staff since 2010.

QB Matthew Perez (5-foot-9, 165 pounds) takes over for District MVP Ray Lewis. Perez led the team with four interceptions and two pick-sixes from his safety spot last year. But he was also surgical in spot duty for Lewis with 600 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

Round Rock McNeil

Fresh off a district championship, former Arlington Bowie offensive line coach Jonathan Cruz makes the move to central Texas. Cruz says that while his team will be young, the Mavericks have dynamic athletes. RB Zylen Hall is one of the most productive returners after rushing for 720 yards and six touchdowns. Junior athlete Kaden Kerney earned Second Team All-District defensive back honors, but was also the team’s leading receiver. He should pair nicely with rising sophomore WR Brayden Norman.

Tuscola Jim Ned

The Indians have made the third round of the playoffs in each of Coach Johnathon McClure’s first two seasons. But McClure’s crew will need to make an almost wholesale line change on offense in 2026. Senior OL Kyle Springer is the only returning starter. McClure says senior RB/LB Cole Chittum has had an excellent offseason and will play a massive role on both sides of the ball.

Yoakum

Coach Bo Robinson’s Bulldogs must hit the reset button after winning the first state championship in program history. X’Zavier Barnett (SMU) and Jace Morales (Army) are both off to the college ranks after each rushing for over 190 yards in the title game. Brothers Germann Robinson (QB/SS) and Germarquis Robinson (RB/CB) both have Malakoff High School listed in their X bios.

Yoakum does return First Team All-District wide receiver Kennan Dilworth (5-foot-7, 155 pounds).
