The Best TXHSFB Players That'll Be Selected in the 2026 NFL Draft
These selections are based on which prospects had the best high school career.
QB: Cade Klubnik
Austin Westlake is America’s Quarterback Factory. Drew Brees started the tradition, Nick Foles and Sam Ehlinger upheld it. Cade Klubnik, however, was the most decorated of any of those signal-callers in high school. He went 34-0 as a starter, the first Texas high school quarterback to go undefeated and win back-to-back titles since Kyler Murray.
Klubnik is No. 3 in Clemson history with 10,123 passing yards, trailing only Tahj Boyd and Deshaun Watson. Unfortunately, Clemson didn’t win as much with Klubnik at the helm as it did with the other program legends. Klubnik entered 2025 as a Heisman favorite and potential first-round NFL Draft pick. Instead, the Tigers skidded to a 7-6 record, their worst season since 2010. Klubnik is projected to be selected in the fifth or sixth round.
Honorable Mention QB: Haynes King (Georgia Tech, Longview High School)
RB: Jamarion Miller
Miller is the rare five-time all-district football selection, having made it on both the offensive and defensive sides at the 6A Tyler Legacy High School. He set a school record with 4,866 career rushing yards, vaulting up to the No. 2-ranked running back in the Class of 2022, per DCTX.
Miller initially committed to Texas before flipping to Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a starter for the last season-and-a-half and led Alabama with 504 rushing yards in 2025. Miller is projected to be drafted in the sixth or seventh round. The Athletic’s Dane Brugler said scouts are intrigued by his potential on special teams.
Honorable Mention RB: Jadarian Price (Notre Dame, Denison)
WR: Jordan Hudson
Hudson had the unfortunate timing of playing his best college football at the same time as Bill Belichick’s girlfriend with the same name (hers is spelled Jordon) started making headlines. As a senior at SMU, Hudson finished in the top seven in the ACC for receiving yards per game (69.6). In three years with the Mustangs, the team went 31-10 with two conference title game appearances and a CFP berth in 2024.
Hudson was the No.17-overall player in the Class of 2022 DCTX Hot 100. He was a four-year varsity letterman at Garland High School who finished his senior season with 22 receiving touchdowns, leading the Owls to an undefeated regular season.
TE: Eli Stowers

Honorable Mention TE: RJ Maryland (SMU, Southlake Carroll High School)
OL: DJ Campbell
For all his fame as a flashy offensive wizard, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian brought the Longhorns back to college football’s elite by rebuilding the trenches. Texas’s 2022 recruiting class brought a historic six high-profile offensive linemen. Most remember Kelvin Banks Jr., an All-American and first-round draft pick, as the face of the offensive line that changed Texas’s fortunes. But, according to most recruiting services, Campbell was the top-ranked offensive lineman in that class (Dave Campbell’s had Banks as the No.4-overall recruit and Campbell as the No.11-overall recruit).
Campbell was a three-time All-District selection at Arlington Bowie and set the school record in the shot put at 55-feet, 7.25 inches. He started 43-straight games at right guard for the Longhorns, a time period that included two College Football Playoff berths and a 35-8 record.
Honorable Mention OL: Kam Dewberry (Alabama, Humble Atascocita High School)
DL: Malick Sylla
A 6-foot-6-inch edge rusher in Gary Joseph’s famed ‘Weak Eagle’ defense at Katy High School is simply unfair. Sylla was part of the Tigers’ last state championship team in 2020 and was selected to the 2022 Under Armour All-America bowl after posting 17 tackles for loss and eight sacks as a senior. After three seasons as a rotational player at Texas A&M, Sylla transferred to Mississippi State and had career highs with 33 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and two sacks. He is projected to be an undrafted free agent.
Honorable Mention DL: Prince Dorbah (Arizona State, Highland Park High School)
LB: Harold Perkins Jr.
How good was Harold Perkins in high school? Cypress Park went 18-14 in the three years he played. They’ve never won a game in the five seasons he hasn’t. Perkins was a five-star recruit who earned District Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore, was a two-way All-District performer (RB/LB) as a junior, and led Cy Park to their first and only district championship as a senior.
Perkins led LSU in tackles for loss and forced fumbles in each of his three healthy seasons. But concerns over his positional fit in the NFL have lowered his stock to a fifth or sixth-round grade. Perkins rotated between inside linebacker, outside linebacker, and edge rusher throughout his career.
Honorable Mention LB: Anthony Hill Jr. (Texas, Denton Ryan)
DB: Malik Muhammad
Muhammad was a standout cornerback on South Oak Cliff’s back-to-back Class 5A DII State Championship teams in 2021 and 2022, the first by a Dallas ISD program since 1959. The lasting image from his All-American high school career is a pick-six to seal the state title against Port Neches-Groves. He will likely become the first South Oak Cliff player from those historic teams drafted this week. Muhammad started for 2.5 years at Texas and earned All-SEC honors in 2025 after allowing just two passes over 12 yards.
Honorable Mention DB: Michael Taaffe (Texas, Austin Westlake)
