Atlanta’s head coach calls Whaley a “freakish athlete” expected to be nationally recruited by his senior year, though that process is already underway. The son of former Texas Longhorn standout Chris Whaley, he made his mark as a freshman on offense, using his size and speed to create mismatches. Programs such as TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and LSU have already offered.
Breakout Candidate: 2027 WR Braylon Fisher (5'11, 180) – Columbus
Fisher flashed on a loaded Columbus roster in 2024, recording 1,338 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns, highlighted by a strong showing in the state title win over Malakoff. He holds early offers from Houston, TCU, and UTSA, with more expected to follow. Fellow 2027 classmate OL Keyon Hemphill-Woods is another Columbus name to note. Fisher was the WR MVP at the Next Level Athlete Top 100 Showcase in Houston.
