Mexia removes interim tag from Nowell

Mexia ISD has approved the removal of the interim tag and have officially made Aaron Nowell the Athletic Director/Head Football Coach of the Blackcats.

Mexia ISD has approved the removal of the interim tag and have officially made Aaron Nowell the Athletic Director/Head Football Coach of the Blackcats. 

Nowell, who was an assistant coach at Cedar Hill under Joey McGuire, took over for athletic director/head football coach Brady Bond last season and led the Blackcats to a 2-9 season. 

He's Mexia's fourth head coach since 2019.
