After compiling one of the most dominant individual postseason runs in Texas high school football history, the proceeding months were bound to be crazy for DeSoto four-star running back Sarod Baker.

That's exactly what they've been.

From winning the 6A Division II state title to an offers list that's grown to more than 40, Baker has quickly become a hot commodity after racking up 4,400 total yards and 55 touchdowns last season, including an absurd 402-yard seven-touchdown performance in the regional finals.

Everyone wants to know where Baker is going, and the picture is started to get a little clearer after his MVP performance at the Under Armour Next Football Camp in Dallas on March 1.

Baker has three official visits locked in so far: Texas Tech, Texas A&M and Texas. It's believed he'll be in College Station, June 5, Texas on June 12 and Lubbock on June 19.

The dynamic RB has the Longhorns in his sights because of the history of success they've had at his position.

“Just how many running backs they put in the league, the culture they’ve got, how they develop running backs and their speed. That plays into it, too.”

New Texas running backs coach Jabbar Juluke has also made a good first impression with Baker.

“It’s great," he said. "We had a family talk about how if I come to Texas, I’ll have a chance. He told me nothing’s guaranteed; I still have to come in and earn it. That’s all I can ask for.”

The same can be said for Texas A&M running backs coach Trooper Taylor, who Baker has a long-standing relationship with.

“That’s true. That’s my dog," Baker said. "Me and Coach Troop, we’ve been tight since two years ago. Going back to meet up with him would mean a lot. That’s been my dog since I first went down to Texas A&M when they played Mississippi State, I think. Back then I was still messing around, and I had to get my life together. I had a talk with Coach Troop, and I feel like he changed my life for a bit. That’s really why Texas A&M is one of my top schools.”

As for Texas Tech, Baker really appreciates what he has seen and heard from head coach Joey McGuire.

"You know, he’s always hitting me up, always trying to give me tips on how to become a better football player and a better person," Baker said. "I feel like me and him got a good connection, and I feel like he’ll take care of me.”

Other schools in the mix for OVs include Florida, Florida State, TCU and SMU.
