Texas Tech added another massive piece to its future on Wednesday when five-star DE LaDamion Guyton (6'3, 225) announced that he was reclassifying to the 2026 recruiting class.

Guyton, who hails from Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine Military, was re-rated nationally as the No. 20 overall prospect in the 2026 class by 247Sports and the No. 3 EDGE nationally.

The reclassification helps bolster an already impressive recruiting class for the Red Raiders that checks in at No. 23 nationally, joining Mansfield Lake Ridge OT Felix Ojo, another five-star commitment.

In its two five-star prizes, Texas Tech has proven its ability to target and land premium players at two of the most important positions on the field. Commitments from players like Guyton show that Texas Tech can attract the attention of the best players in the country, not just the state.

The best players win the most games, and the Red Raiders are proving it with a 6-0 record and a No. 7 ranking in the latest AP Poll.
