2024 Willis QB DJ Lagway (6'2, 225) has stuck with his pledge to Florida and will sign with the Gators.
Lagway is rated as the No. 1 QB in the 2024 DCTF Rising Hot 100 and has been named a Mr. Texas Football finalist. He was named the Maxpreps Player of the Year and has been selected to play in the Under Armour Next All-America Game.
Lagway has had a remarkable TXHSFB career, culminating with a tremendous showing in 2023. As a senior, he completed 289 of 393 pass attempts (72.1%) for 4,605 yards with 59 touchdowns and eight interceptions while also carrying the ball 100 times for 953 yards and 16 scores.
Scouting Report: Lagway is a dual-threat quarterback who has a cannon for an arm. He is a powerful runner who is extremely difficult to tackle. The state's No. 1-rated signal caller enjoyed a monstrous senior season, becoming one of the most prolific offensive weapons nationally.
