Waco La Vega (1-0) at Waco Connally (1-0): North Waco’s best rivalry will be rekindled on Friday night as Waco Connally heads east of I-35 where they’ll visit Waco La Vega in a battle of teams who opened the season with impressive wins.

Connally went on the road to open the season and made quick work of Mexia in a 64-13 win. The Cadets piled up 652 yards of offense. The Cadets two stars, ATH Kobe Black and RB Kiefer Sibley, both played huge parts in the first half explosion that saw Connally put up 44 first half points.

La Vega played Kennedale for third time in a year last week and for the second time came away with a win as the Pirates took down the Wildcats, 35-28. RB Bryson Roland was as consistent as ever running for 240 yards and two touchdowns to pace the Pirates.

This will be a physical game. These are the type of games La Vega thrives in, but for some reason Connally has seemed to have the Pirates number. This is a total pick’em game, but I’ll give the edge to La Vega at home.
