Tyler Legacy 2023 DE Jordan Renaud (6'4, 245) is one of the state's most heavily recruited prospects.

After moving to Texas from Palmetto HS (Fla.), Renaud has added scholarships from schools like TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami (FL), Oklahoma and more.

"I know that God sent me to Texas for a purpose to broaden my horizons and not just (to be) looking at (schools in) Florida," Renaud said.

Renaud enjoys playing against TXHSFB competition. He has now played in what many considered as the two top talent-producing states, so he has a unique perspective.

"I love it," Renaud said of TXHSFB.

In (Florida) you get more speed; outside zone, you have to be quick. You can't trust your eyes in Florida. Here (Texas), you have to be more technique-sound. Here, they hone in on strength; everybody is strong."

Renaud has not yet narrowed down his extensive offer list, but he has several schools standing out by the amount of interest they are showing.

"Oklahoma, Georgia, Alabama -- they are really in the loop," Renaud answered when asked who was recruiting him the most urgently. "TCU is talking to me a lot. Florida State is definitely talking to me a lot. Miami (FL) too."

OU is one school that has made a significant impact in Renaud's recruitment. A recent visit there seems to have cemented the Sooners' presence as one of his top choices.

"It was great," Renaud said of his trip to Norman. "I actually had a conversation with Coach (Brent) Venables for like an hour, and the conversation that we had, I actually saw a different side of him outside of the coaching. As a person, he was very transparent."

"One thing that stood out to me about the visit is that they took me outside of my comfort zone, so I ended up singing at the camp. I carried my team. We were playing finish the lyrics. That is one thing that stood out. I like to rap, so the fact that they freestyle and stuff like that, I connect with them as far as that goes."

Renaud is rated as the No. 9 prospect in the DCTF Hot 100, checking in as the No. 2 DE. He has earned an invitation to play in the Under Armour All-America Game.
