PLANO, TEXAS, October 8th, 2025 - Ford is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the prestigious Built Ford Tough Player of the Week and Year Awards, one of the most celebrated honors in Texas high school sports that recognizes student-athletes for their performance, leadership, and commitment to excellence. During each week of the 2025 regular season, fans, coaches, and media are asked to nominate players at FordPlayeroftheWeek.com.

To mark the milestone, Ford is partnering with Texas’ most iconic media brand, Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, to honor past recipients and showcase their achievements both on and off the field. Throughout the season, Dave Campbell’s will produce the Built Ford Tough Player of the Week Show each Thursday at 10:30 p.m. on Texan Live and across Dave Campbell’s social platforms, inviting fans to tune in weekly and follow along for highlights, stories, and exclusive content.

The campaign will also be celebrated through Dave Campbell’s statewide media channels and UIL postseason broadcasts, with special recognition leading into the Built Ford Tough Player of the Year Banquet in January. At the banquet, one honoree from each classification, will be recognized with the Dave Campbell’s Mr. Texas Football Award, an honor that celebrates the state’s most outstanding high school football player as part of this season-long celebration.

This week’s winning athletes join a long list of remarkable players recognized for their exceptional efforts.

Class 6A: Brock Boyd, Senior, WR, Carroll Senior High School

Mascot: Dragons

Opponent: Keller High School

Senior Brock Boyd continues to shine for Carroll Senior High School, putting up another big performance with 9 catches for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns. On the season, he now has 37 receptions for 527 yards and multiple scores. Even more impressive, Boyd recently etched his name in Southlake Carroll history, becoming the program’s all-time leader in both receiving yards and receptions. The Ohio State commit is proving week after week why he’s one of the top pass-catchers in the state—and a major future weapon for the Buckeyes.

“Brock had an outstanding game vs. Keller — he makes big plays when we need them most and really sets the tone for our offense. He’s one of those players who leads by example, both on and off the field. What he brings to our program goes beyond stats — it’s his work ethic, consistency, and the way he elevates everyone around him. We’re extremely proud of how he represents the Dragon program.”

  • CARROLL SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH RILEY DODGE

Class 5A: Ryan Estrada, Senior, RB, El Dorado High School

Mascot: Aztecs

Opponent: Americas High School

In a back-and-forth battle against rival Americas, El Dorado's Ryan Estrada carried his team to a 28-20 win to remain unbeaten in district play. Estrada registered 20 carries for 244 yards and three touchdowns in the win. The senior has rushed for over 1,400 yards and 17 touchdowns this season, leading the Aztecs to a 5-1 (2-0) mark through the first half of the season. Estrada is a Top 100 recruit in Texas who is currently committed to Minnesota, and holds over 20 Division I offers, including the likes of Alabama, Baylor, BYU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Wisconsin. The Aztecs have won eight straight district games dating back to last year, with Estrada leading the way.

"Ryan’s performance was phenomenal last Friday night. He was electric and found his rhythm early, along with our offensive line and wide receivers blocking well for him throughout the game. He has been outstanding this year coming up with big plays in key moments all season long. His character is one of a kind. He’s one of our community’s favorite scholar-athletes as he always takes the time to meet, greet, and converse with all adults, peers, and our feeder school students. Ryan is also an A-B honor roll student. His drive, perseverance, and commitment to excellence, as well as always helping his teammates, is what makes him special. His mother and his family have done a great job raising this incredible young man."

  • EL DORADO HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH FRANK MARTINEZ

Class 4A: Lincoln Madrid, Senior, QB, Greenwood High School

Mascot: Rangers

Opponent: Liberty High School

Madrid and the Rangers faced their toughest test of the season when they met Lubbock-Cooper Liberty in a battle of 5-0 teams. The dual-threat QB stepped up by accounting for five total touchdowns to lead the No. 6-ranked Rangers to a 34-14 win over the No. 9 Patriots on homecoming at J.M. King Memorial Stadium. He ran 19 times for 138 yards and two touchdowns to lead Greenwood’s ground game.

Madrid also completed 13 of 19 passes for 130 yards, three TD passes and no interceptions in the Ranger air attack.

Greenwood led 21-0 at halftime following a TD run and two TD passes from Madrid in the second quarter. Madrid’s leadership and playmaking is a major reason why the Rangers are 6-0 heading into their open week, the program’s best start since 2019.

Madrid competes in track and field and spring tennis at Greenwood, is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, is an A/B honor roll student and serves as a leader/coach for a youth football program called the WTX Reign.

“Lincoln has been the model of consistency, not just this year, but his last three years as the starting quarterback. For him to account for five touchdowns in our biggest game of the season was incredible. He’s the heartbeat of not just our offense, but our entire locker room and we are incredibly fortunate that he’s a Greenwood Ranger.”

  •  GREENWOOD HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH BRYAN HILL

Class 3A: Trevor Golightly, Junior, QB, Edgewood High School

Mascot: Bulldogs

Opponent: Quitman High School

The passing numbers are hard to miss, but teams would be advised not to sleep on Trevor Golightly’s ability to run.

Golightly lit up Quitman for 369 yards and seven touchdowns through the air in a 62-7 win but also rushed for 56 yards on just four carries. The Edgewood junior’s big game puts him at 1,617 passing yards and 22 touchdowns against just two interceptions, but he’s also rushed for nearly 500 yards (493) and has one TD on the ground during his team’s 4-2 start (2-0 in district play).

“A lot of people don’t value his running ability, but Trevor is a real dual threat quarterback and a real competitor. He’s also an outstanding student that maintains at least a 3.5 GPA. He’s a leader on our team, and volunteers free time to work with our younger kids. He is always a “yes sir, no sir” guy and always respects authority. He works with his dad coaching Pee Wee football and is a good influence on our younger community.”

  • EDGEWOOD HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH KEVIN BACHTEL

Class 2A: Greeley McAden, Senior, QB, Tioga High School

Mascot: Bulldogs

Opponent: Tom Bean High School

Greeley McAden, a senior quarterback at Tioga High School, is putting up video game numbers this season—and doing it all with brains and leadership to match. In a single game, he racked up a jaw-dropping 537 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns, rushing for 292 yards and four scores on 26 carries, while throwing for another 245 yards and a touchdown on 17-of-28 passing. On the season, he’s totaled 2,150 yards (430 per game) and 27 touchdowns—13 through the air, 12 on the ground, plus one each on a kick return and reception. Beyond the gridiron, Greeley is just as impressive: he’s Student Body President, a 4.96 GPA student, and an A Honor Roll member every year. He’s earned multiple accolades in football and track & field, including a 2A state title and a state record. Simply put, Greeley McAden is the definition of a dual-threat—on the field and in life.

“Greeley embodies everything we want this program and our brand to stand for. He brings the energy every single day, he competes in everything he does and strives to be elite in every aspect of his life. Greeley is the definition of a selfless leader.”

  • TIOGA HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH ZACH BIRDWELL

Private School: Cooper Witten, Junior, LB/WR, Liberty Christian School

Mascot: Warriors

Opponent: West Plains High School

Junior standout Cooper Witten is turning heads at Liberty Christian School in Argyle with his dominant play on both sides of the ball. In a big 41-35 win over West Plains, he hauled in 7 catches for 106 yards and a touchdown, while racking up 16 tackles—11 solo—plus a fumble recovery on defense. That performance is just the latest in a breakout season for the heavily recruited two-way star, who now has 41 receptions for 709 yards and 12 touchdowns, along with 64 tackles (46 solo), 7 tackles for loss, and 4 fumble recoveries in just five games. With 28 offers on the table, Cooper will have an exciting decision ahead—but for now, he’s just busy making plays and leading the Warriors to victory.

“Cooper is a unique talent — he has the speed and agility to make plays on the perimeter, along with the size and strength to be a difference-maker at the line of scrimmage. As gifted as he is on the field, he’s an even better person and teammate. He’s a team captain, one of our hardest workers, and embodies everything we want our student-athletes to represent — in the locker room, in the hallways, and in the community.”

  • LIBERTY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL HEAD COACH JASON WITTEN
