Highest-Rated: Ryelan Morris (5'9, 170) - Honey Grove
Morris entered last year as the top-rated 2A prospect and holds that spot again. The DCTX four-star and Stanford commit is a dynamic all-purpose back with slick footwork and soft hands. Despite playing only seven games, he piled up 1,871 yards and 30 touchdowns. With a full season, he could eclipse 2,500 yards.
Top Underclassman: 2029 WR Dylan Russell (6'0, 160) - Kenedy
We’re reaching into the freshman ranks in 2A, where Kenedy head coach Mike Jackson calls Russell the “best athlete I have coached in 32 years.” Early reviews back that up. His scrimmage tape showed plenty of flashes, and a reported 4.47 40-yard dash adds fuel to his recruiting buzz. Russell has the tools to grow into one of the classification’s brightest stars.
Breakout Candidate: 2026 ATH AJ Donnell (6'2, 175) - Frankston
Donnell, one of the top uncommitted prospects in 2026, already holds early offers from North Texas and Texas Tech. His production shows why: 480 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, 39 receptions for 915 yards and eight scores, plus four interceptions on defense. A true do-it-all talent, he is poised for another strong season, and that could lead to more college opportunities.
