Schertz Clemens co-DC Adam Harvey has been named the first-ever head coach at New Braunfels Long Creek High School, New Braunfels ISD announced on Tuesday.

Long Creek will open in August with freshman and sophomores.

Harvey has spent the past two seasons at Schertz Clemens where he’s served as the Buffaloes co-defensive coordinator. Prior to that, Harvey spent two seasons as the defensive coordinator at Hutto.

Harvey has spent much of his time in the high school ranks on staff at Cibolo Steele where he coached from 2013-2020. He coached defensive backs for the Knights and was elevated to co-defensive coordinator in 2017.

Long Creek, whose mascot will be the Dragons and will have school colors of green and blue, will play a JV schedule in 2024 and likely play an outlaw varsity schedule in 2025 before jumping into a UIL district in 2026 as what expects to be a 5A school.

“It’s a total blank slate here," Harvey said. "We are starting everything new and it’s exciting. There’s lots of development coming and I think this has a chance to be a special place."
