McKinney 2024 S Xavier Filsaime (6'1, 180) flipped from Florida to Texas.
Filsaime is rated as the No. 1 safety in the Lone Star State in the 2024 DCTF Risng Hot 100.
Filsaime had committed to Florida during the spring, but the Gators' struggles during the regular season, finishing 5-7 and undergoing coaching changes (namely DB coach Corey Raymond), prompted him to consider a late-season offer from UT.
Filsaime chose the Longhorns due to their proximity, development opportunities, and team culture. He emphasized his relationship with Texas safeties coach Blake Gideon and expressed excitement about joining the team early for bowl practices in preparation for the game against Washington.
Filsaime joins DE Colin Simmons and CB Kobe Black as the Top 10 in-state recruits in the 2024 recruiting class.
