SMU safety Brandon Crossley won American Athletic Defensive Player of the Week. Crossley had the key play in SMU’s 34-31 victory over Memphis intercepting a pass in the end zone with two seconds remaining as Memphis was threatening to score having the ball on the Mustang 9-yard line. Crossley also finished with five tackles and added two pass breakups against Memphis helping SMU to finish the regular season on a winning note entering bowl season. Crossley finished the regular season top six in total tackles for the Mustangs.
