WEEK 13

6A: William Blaylock, Cy-Ranch
Blaylock has led the Mustangs to their best season since 2018, with a 10-2 record and an area championship win over Conroe Grand Oaks. 

5A: Eric Edwards, Midlothian Heritage
Edwards and his Jaguars took down Texas High for the second time this season, securing an area championship. 

4A: Brian Hulett, Springtown
The Porcupines opened up the playbook to pull off a 49-41 win over Frisco Panther Creek to improve to 12-0. 

3A: Chad Taylor, Hardin
The Hornets pushed their record to 12-0 on the year with a 16-9 win over Hitchcock in an old-school defensive battle. 

2A: Kevin Stennett, Cisco
The Loboes edged Panhandle 21-20 in one of the week's most hotly contested games. 

1A: Clint Linman, Whiteface
The Antelopes are back in the regional final after a resounding 98-48 win over Booker.

PVT: Donnie Yantis, Plano Prestonwood
The Lions avenged their regular season loss to Argyle Liberty Christian with a 49-34 win over the defending state champs.

WEEK 12

6A: Trey Bryant, Richardson Berkner 
Bryant led the Rams to a 30–28 win over Arlington Bowie to secure a program-defining bi-district championship. 

5A: Frank Martinez, El Paso El Dorado 
In one of the week’s wildest games, Martinez and the Aztecs pulled off an incredible 77–76 victory over Amarillo. 

4A: Josh Smalley, Bridge City 
After a 24–21 win over Tyler Chapel Hill, it’s hard to believe the Cardinals were 1–9 just three seasons ago. Smalley has completely transformed the program’s culture. 

3A: Johnathon McClure, Jim Ned 
McClure and company improved to 10–1 with a dominant 42–7 win over Boyd. 

2A: Kyle Wheeler, Anson 
Entering the playoffs as the No. 4 seed from the district, Anson handled Ozona 35–14, proving 4-2A Division I is one of the toughest in Texas.

1A: Dax Allen, Turkey Valley
The Patriots pulled off one of the upsets of the first round of the playoffs, knocking off favored Vernon Northside 62-6.

PVT: Jacob Zinn, Dallas Covenant
The Knights upset Arlington Pantego Christian in the first round of the TAPPS Division III playoffs, staying alive with a 35-14 victory.

WEEK 11

6A: Tyrone Carter, Cypress Lakes
With a 38-13 win over Cypress Springs, Lakes secured its first-ever playoff appearance. They will square off against Magnolia in 6A-DII.

5A: Michael Quintero, Cedar Park
The Timberwolves locked down the 8-5A DI district championship with a thrilling 60-52 victory over Georgetown on the road.

4A: Brandon Faircloth, Sulphur Springs
The Wildcats picked up their statement win in 2025 by securing the #2 seed out of 7-4A Division I with a 20-13 win over Frisco Panther Creek.

3A: David Lucio, Tidehaven
The Tigers capped off a remarkable 10-0 season with a dominant 59-6 win over East Bernard. They outscored their final four district opponents 215-21.

2A: Mitch Ables, Hawley
Hawley ends the season on a very high note with a 36-28 win over Stamford, proving they are a team that is a threat for a playoff push.

1A: Shannon Williams, Aquilla
The Cougars clinched a perfect regular season and a district championship, and snapped a six-game losing streak to its rival Abbott with a 54-6 victory.

PVT: Jordan Black, Bryan Brazos Christian
In his first season at the helm of the Eagles, Black polished off a perfect regular season and a district championship with a 47-0 win over Tomball Rosehill Christian.

'WEEK 10

6A: Rick LaFavers, Fort Bend Ridge Point
LaFavers has turned Ridge Point into a perennial powerhouse. A dominant 44-6 win over Fort Bend Hightower secured the 21-6A title, and the Panthers are on track to finish the regular season unbeaten for the first time in his tenure.

5A: Marvin Sedberry Jr., Terrell
Sedberry has guided the Tigers to a 9-0 record, positioning them as one of the state’s most overlooked contenders. It’s remarkable considering the program won just one game six years ago.

4A: Billy Mathis, Brock
Mathis has the Eagles firing on all cylinders behind a stingy defense that has allowed double-digit points only twice this season. At 9-0, Brock looks every bit like a strong title contender.

3A: John Bachtel, Fairfield
Bachtel, one of the few head coaches who still coaches position groups on both sides of the ball, has Fairfield rolling. The Eagles improved to 9-0 with a statement 42-21 win over Palestine Westwood to claim the 9-3A Division I title.

2A: Zach Birdwell, Tioga
Birdwell and the Bulldogs delivered in a must-win matchup, outlasting Wolfe City 50-44 to clinch their fifth consecutive playoff berth.

1A: Josh Stanaland, Jayton
The Jaybirds polished off another undefeated regular season with a resounding 50-0 win over previously unbeaten Aspermont.

PVT: James Moynahan, Bellaire Episcopal
The Knights finished their regular season in style with a 62-34 romp over The Woodlands John Cooper.

WEEK 9

6A: Alphonso James, Houston Wisdom
A 45-28 win over Houston Westside ensures that James and the Generals are heading back to the playoffs for the first time since 1979. A huge accomplishment for a program that recently jumped up to the 6A rank.

5A: Jerry Edwards, Colleyville Heritage
A 28-21 win over Mansfield Summit puts the Panthers in an ideal spot to secure a playoff berth out of a highly competitive 3-5A Division II district that features six teams battling for four postseason spots.

4A: Adam Cummings, Canyon West Plains
The Wolves have evolved into a 4A powerhouse under Cummings’ guidance, winning 15 consecutive district games after dismantling Canyon Randall 62-7.

3A: Kent Walker, Blanco
The Panthers edged Lexington 35-33 in what was essentially the 13-3A Division II district championship game. This experienced squad is beginning to hit its stride as the playoffs draw near.

2A: Scott Ponder, Mount Enterprise
The Wildcats improved to 8-0 following an offensive explosion, outscoring previously unbeaten Lovelady 82-60. Ranked No. 9 in 2A Division II, Mount Enterprise has made a strong case to climb up.

1A: Abel Garcia, Balmorhea
In his second season at the helm of the Bears, Garcia has Balmorhea sitting at 8-0 and in prime position to win the District 5-1A DII title after a 44-8 win over Grandfalls-Royalty.

PVT: Raymond Davis, Houston St. Thomas
Davis’ Eagles soared to 7-1 —and 5-0 in District 2 of TAPPS Division I — with a gutty 20-15 road win against Tomball Concordia Lutheran.

WEEK 8

6A: Jeff Fleener, Forney
Fleener has the Jackrabbits playing their best football since the 6A bump and has picked up back-to-back 10-6A district-shifting wins over Longview and Rockwall. This week's one-point win over Rockwall was transformational.

5A: Tommy Allison, Prosper Walnut Grove
In just its first two seasons of UIL competition, Allison has his team at 18-2 and avenged its only regular-season loss in that span with a 45-38 win over Anna on Friday night.

4A: Clint Fuller, Kilgore
Fuller and his Bulldogs have flexed their muscle over the past two games, beating Tyler Chapel Hill 28-7 and Lindale 49-29 to take complete control of 9-4A Division I.

3A: Kevin Salazar, Goliad
The Tigers handed Orange Grove its first loss of the season with a commanding 40-17 win, which puts them in the driver's seat in 13-3A Division I with a pivotal matchup against Edna on deck.

2A: Tory Barnes, San Augustine
The Wolves notched a 31-15 win over No. 8 Garrison, surpassing their four-win total from 2024 in the process. Now sitting at 5-2 overall and 2-0 in 11-2A Division I, it’s time to consider them the favorites to claim the district crown. 

1A: Jose Cervantes, Milford
The Bulldogs took down previously unbeaten Avalon 94-62, clinching a playoff spot and setting themselves up as the favorites for the District 9-1A DI crown.

PVT: Daniel Novakov, Dallas Parish Episcopal
In a state-ranked showdown of title contenders, Novakov’s Panthers shined in a 56-28 win over Argyle Liberty Christian.

WEEK 7


6A: Cory Laxen, Sheldon C.E. King 
Laxen has the Panthers firing on all cylinders, especially on offense, as they jumped out to a 42-0 lead on Humble Summer Creek and held on for a 42-28 victory. They now control their own destiny in 23-6A. 

5A: Brian Morgan, Port Arthur Memorial 
Morgan has his team firmly in the state title conversation with a 7-0 start. There are still some monumental games ahead, but this week’s 34-6 win over Barbers Hill was a statement. 

4A: Miles Robison, Shepherd 
The Pirates are one of the best Cinderella stories in Texas high school football, sitting at 6-0 after a dominant 48-0 win over Cleveland Tarkington. They have now doubled last year’s win total. 

3A: Tommy Koch, Paradise 
The Panthers have kept the momentum rolling under Koch’s leadership, preserving a program that has now won 40 games over the past four seasons and remaining in firm control of 4-3A Division I. 

2A: Cody Ross, Beckville 
With its back against the wall in 10-2A Division I, Beckville responded in a big way by knocking off previously unbeaten Waskom to stay in the race for the district crown. Playoff seeding is paramount in Region III, so every win is big.

1A: Clay Holland, Menard
Holland has the Yellowjackets sitting at 7-0 for the first time since 2014 — and the first time ever as a six-man program — after a 59-0 win over Leakey.

PVT: Todd Collins, Waco Texas Wind
Collins earned his biggest win in his first year at the helm of the Skyhawks, knocking off state-ranked Austin Royals in a clash of TAIAO unbeatens.

WEEK 6


6A: Sergio Gonzalez, Pasadena Rayburn
Coach Gonzalez and the Texans Slot-T offense has seen major improvement in 2025 as Rayburn is off to a 4-1 start after a 16-7 win over Alvin on Friday. It’s Rayburn’s first district win over a non-Pasadena ISD program since 2002.

5A: Spencer Anthony, Baytown Sterling
In his first year at the helm at Sterling, Coach Anthony has the Rangers in the thick of the 9-5A Division I race after a massive 23-14 upset of Barbers Hill on Thursday to improve to 5-1 and 2-0 in district play. Sterling, who hasn’t had a winning season since 2016 was a 31-point underdog Thursday.

4A: Sterling Doty, Stephenville
Doty’s state ranked Yellow Jackets showed some Texas pride Friday stunning Louisiana powerhouse Ruston, 28-12 to close out non-district play at 6-0. Ruston, who beat Stephenville 63-17 a year ago was fresh off wins over 6A powers Longview and Midland Legacy.

3A: Chad Taylor, Hardin
Coach Taylor’s squad improved to 6-0 on the season with a dominant 43-21 win over previously unbeaten East Chambers to seize control of the 10-3A Division I race. Hardin’s ground and pound offense has been unstoppable this season as they’ve punted just one time in six games and they scored on all six possessions last week.

2A: Bennie Huitt, Chilton
Defense has been the name of the game for Coach Huitt’s Pirates who pitched their fourth straight shutout Friday with a 34-0 romp over Mart to move to 5-0 and 2-0 in district play. It’s Chilton’s first win over Mart since 2009.

1A: James Shelton, Hart
After going 0-8 in his first season the helm, Shelton has the Longhorns sitting at 5-0 after a 60-12 victory on the road at Anton.

PVT: Mike Fuller, Grapevine Faith Christian
The Lions are 4-0 in coach Fuller’s first season leading the program after a resounding 56-7 win over Fort Worth Lake Country.

WEEK 5


6A: BJ Gotte, Pearland
Gotte has Pearland off to a perfect 5-0 start, leading an offense that is piling up 56 points per game. The defense is also playing exceptionally well.

5A: Blake Ryder, Santa Fe
Ryder guided Santa Fe to a stunning 17-13 upset over Fort Bend Marshall, positioning the program as a legitimate playoff contender in District 9-5A Division II.

4A: Chis Cochran, Lindale
Cochran has Lindale rolling at 5-0, following a 64-28 win over Tyler Chapel Hill. The Eagles are only one win away from matching last year’s win total despite facing a brutal schedule.

3A: Russ Sutherland, East Chambers
Sutherland not only has East Chambers off to a hot 4-0 start but also secured his 200th career win in a hard-fought 21-14 victory over Buna.

2A: Paul Gould, Frankston
Gould has Frankston playing its best football in school history with a 5-0 start, launching the program into state title contention in 2A Division I.

1A: Blake Jackson, Meadow
Jackson has the Broncos at 5-0 after a gritty 14-0 win over Wilson.

PVT: Jeff Kemp, Arlington Pantego Christian
The Panthers are 5-0 under coach Kemp after a 45-9 thrashing of perennial power Waco Live Oak.

WEEK 4

6A: Shane Tolleson, Waxahachie
In his fourth season, Tolleson delivered Waxahachie’s biggest moment yet with a 28-27 victory over Duncanville, a win that strongly positions ’Hachie in 11-6A.

5A: Danny Youngs, Brenham
The Cubs are 4-0 behind WR Chris Guidry’s offensive firepower and a stingy defense holding opponents to just 14 points per game.

4A: Clint Finley, Sealy
Sealy’s 35-7 victory over Bay City signaled the Tigers’ emergence as a team to watch in 4A Division II.

3A: David Haynes Jr., Whitney
Whitney fans are buzzing as Haynes has the offense humming, averaging 57.5 points per game heading into a non-district matchup with Little River Academy.

2A: Brennan Whitaker, De Leon
A 52-34 victory over perennial state title contender Hawley shows that the Bearcats have earned their place among the state’s top-ranked programs.

1A: Louis Kelley III, Boys Ranch
Kelley has the Roughriders at 4-0 for the first time as a six-man program with a 62-14 win over Amarillo San Jacinto Christian.

PVT: Kirk Wade, Abilene Christian
Wade guided the Panthers to their biggest win of the season so far, knocking off previously unbeaten Lubbock Kingdom Prep 52-32.

WEEK 3


6A: John Snelson, Dickinson
The Gators are rolling into 24-6A play with a 3-0 start, which includes wins over Katy, C.E. King and Cy-Fair. The hype is real, and Snelson has built a state contender.

5A: Curtis James, Fort Worth Arlington Heights
James has Arlington Heights firing on all cylinders. The Yellowjackets are 3-0 and have yet to surrender a point, outscoring opponents 189-0, capped by a 70-0 rout of Fort Worth North Side.

4A: Grady Rowe, Bellville
Rowe’s squad flexed by stepping up a division and knocking off Fort Bend Crawford 36-16, reinforcing their status as a 4A Division II powerhouse.

3A: Paul Kirby, Nixon-Smiley
Following a 47-17 win over Flatonia, Kirby has led the Mustangs to their first 3-0 start since 1997. They have considerable momentum heading into 15-3A Division II play.

2A: Mike Jackson, Kenedy
Jackson’s Lions sent a message by moving up a classification and avenging last year’s blowout loss to Karnes City with a commanding 55-28 victory.

1A: Ryan Heard, Leakey
The Eagles put together a complete performance in a 68-12 upset win over Amherst.

PVT: Jeromy Flowers, Arlington Oakridge
The Owls improved to 3-0 on the year with a 28-14 win over El Paso Coronado.

WEEK 2


6A: Joe Pena, Edinburg
Pena notched his first win as the Bobcats’ head coach, delivering the program’s first victory in the crosstown rivalry since 2011 with a 19-6 upset over Edinburg Vela.

5A: Malcolm Hill, Pflugerville Weiss
Hill took over late in the process but is off to a hot 2-0 start. The Wolves punched up a classification and edged San Marcos 22-15 in a physical battle.

4A: Tucker Carter, Livingston
Following a winless 2024, Carter has the Lions at 2-0. Their 44-38 win over a talented Needville squad served as an early program statement.

3A: Shawn Sparks, Boyd
In just two weeks, Sparks has already doubled last year’s win total. Boyd’s 26-21 victory over Jacksboro pushed the team to 2-0 for the first time since 2020, its last winning season.

2A: Denney Faith, Albany
Faith guided the Lions past Hawley 21-7 in one of the classification’s marquee matchups, solidifying Albany as a frontrunner in 2A Division II.

1A: Coleman Butter, Chester
Facing state-ranked power Houston Emery-Weiner, Butter’s Yellowjackets were unafraid, taking the fight to the Jaguars in a 62-26 upset victory.

PVT: Chad Pegues, Arlington Grace Prep
Pegues’ Lions pulled off one of Week 2’s biggest upsets, getting five total touchdowns from Kohein Jergenson in a 35-14 win over Colleyville Covenant.

6A: Galen Zimmerman, Dripping Springs
Zimmerman led the Tigers to a dominant 41-14 win over defending 6A DII champion Austin Vandegrift, positioning his team as a true contender.

5A: Jason Todd, South Oak Cliff
Todd’s tough scheduling paid off as the Bears earned a 41-31 win over 6A power Galena Park North Shore.

4A: Irwin Garcia, Fort Worth Diamond Hill-Jarvis
The Eagles snapped a 47-game losing streak with a 26-14 cross-town victory over a 5A opponent, their first win since 2019.

3A: Jeff Breaux, Orangefield
Orangefield opened with a statement, rolling past last year’s state finalist Woodville 35-14.

2A: Justin Arnold, Ore City
After a winless 2024 season, the program showed growth, pulling out a 17-14 win over a tough Bogata Rivercrest squad. 

1A: Brendan Fisk, Lefors
The Pirates pulled off a true upset, knocking off Wildorado 35-18 in a hard-fought season opener.

PVT: Corby Meekins, Houston Lutheran South
The Pioneers put their best foot forward in the season opener, knocking off Houston Christian 35-9.
