2027 LB Devin Robinson (6'0, 190) has quietly become the engine that drives Lewisville's defense, and his trajectory mirrors former Temple and Texas A&M linebacker Taurean York.

Lewisville's 2027 class has collectively pulled in roughly 85 scholarship offers, spreading the attention across the roster.

That context helps explain why Robinson has flown somewhat under the radar nationally, much like York did back in the Class of 2023.

Lewisville head coach Michael Odle calls him the "quarterback of the defense," a role that places communication, checks, and alignment squarely on Robinson's shoulders. Odle has even brought Robinson into offensive meeting rooms, expanding his understanding of the game.

Being prepared allows Robinson to play fast.

"I've been able to play fast and play physical at all times, even in high-intensity situations," Robinson said. "I'm also very smart when it comes to reading offenses because I have a background on offense, so I have a sense of what running backs like and what quarterbacks like."

Selected as a team captain, Robinson is the hub of on-field communication, serving as an extension of the coaching staff.

"I've been blessed on this team to be called the Green Dot," Robinson said. "I've been able to communicate and move packages around to fit what we need defensively."

In 2025, Robinson finished with 115 tackles in 11 games, added an interception, and forced two fumbles, earning unanimous first-team all-district honors.

Boasting a 75-inch wingspan and verified 21.34 mph Catapult speed, he brings functional range and physicality to the field.

Before signing with Texas A&M, York emerged at Temple on a deep roster, earned the nickname the Temple Tackling Machine, and quickly proved himself in the SEC.

Robinson's path feels familiar.

He projects as a multi-positional defender at the next level, capable of playing WILL linebacker and moving around in defensive formations as needed.

"I want to be available to do whatever the situation calls for," Robinson said. "Whether that's man coverage or fitting in the box, I can do anything you need me to do."

His flexibility has attracted attention from a wide range of colleges.

Robinson holds offers from Southern Miss, Oregon State, Rice, UTEP and Sacramento State, with interest from Kansas State, Arizona State, Texas A&M, Stanford and Yale.

If York was the Temple Tackling Machine, Robinson is fast becoming the Lewisville Leveler, a defender who diagnoses quickly and takes out everything in his path.
