Texas State was bombarded by news with coaching controversy that culminated in the sudden resignation of Danny Kaspar. But by all accounts, Terrence Johnson  is a capable interim option who could prove to be ready for the full-time job.

Senior guard Avionne Alexander expects a lot out of the Bobcats in the 2020-21 season. But for Texas State to take a step forward, the rest of the players have to expect it out of themselves too.

After achieving a school-best 23 wins in the 2018-19 season, Texas State lost four of its last five games, including a semi-finals appearance in the Sun Belt tournament. But with the majority of his key players returning, head coach Danny Kaspar feels his team is set to contend for a league title again.

Texas State will enter this season with five first-year players and three returning seniors again. The team is further along in the growing process than last year, though. Head coach Zenarae Antoine’s 2018 recruiting class played significant minutes last season and is now poised to make a leap.
