Celina ISD has placed athletic director and head football coach Bill Elliott, along with another district employee, on non-disciplinary leave pending the completion of two separate investigations related to former Moore Middle School coach Caleb Elliott, who is Bill Elliott’s son.

The decision was made at the recommendation of a third party involved in one of the investigations, according to a letter sent to parents Friday. A separate investigation is being conducted by the Celina Police Department.

Caleb Elliott was arrested twice this month — first on Oct. 3 on charges of invasive visual recording in a boys locker room, and again on Oct. 9 on a felony charge of possession or promotion of child pornography. He has since resigned from his position with the district.

Celina ISD emphasized that Bill Elliott has not been accused of any wrongdoing. The district said the temporary leave was implemented out of concern that his continued presence could interfere with the ongoing investigation involving his son.

Bill Elliott has served as Celina’s head football coach since 2012. He led the Bobcats to a Class 4A Division I state championship, and his team currently holds an 8-0 record and the No. 1 ranking in Class 4A Division I.

Separately, Celina ISD is facing a lawsuit alleging the district failed to address prior concerns about Caleb Elliott’s behavior.
