Sulphur Springs (5-0, 1-0) at Celina (6-0, 2-0):

It’s a battle of state-ranked unbeatens in 7-4A Division I as Sulphur Springs, fresh off a bye week, looks to take down No. 1 Celin, which owns a 22-game winning streak.

In their last outing two weeks ago, Sulphur Springs rolled to a 45-14 win over Aubrey. QB Deuce Timmons tossed four touchdown passes and ran for another score, while ATH Jaxson Haire ran for a score and hauled in two touchdown passes.

After getting pushed to the brink two weeks ago in a seven-point win over Frisco Panther Creek, Celina had no such issues with Aubrey last week as the Bobcats cruised to a 48-10 win. The game was 41-0 at the half before Celina emptied the bench.

Oklahoma commit QB Bowe Bentley threw for 198 yards and four scores and he added a touchdown on the ground. WR LJ Taylor was the recipient of three of Bentley’s scoring tosses.

There are few teams in 4A who are equipped to battle Celina in the trenches, but Sulphur Springs may be one of those teams. The Wildcats have TCU commit Vincent Johnson leading a massive offensive line and UTEP DL commit Truth Holmes leads the SSHS defensive line. If Sulphur Springs can pressure Bentley and control the tempo of the game with the running game they’ve got a chance to be competitive. But to pull the upset in Celina, a lot will need to go the Wildcats way.
