TCU’s Johnny Hodges won Big 12 defensive player of the week won defensive player of the week after his performance in the Horned Frogs victory in Austin. Hodges had one of his best performances of 2022, and it proved necessary in TCU’s low-scoring 17-10 win against Texas. Hodges had a season-high 11 tackles and led the TCU defense to their best performance of the season holding the Longhorns to less than 200 yards of total offense, three offensive points and 1-of-13 third-down conversions. One of Hodges’ better plays of the game is when he combined on a tackle to stop Bijan Robinson for no gain on a 4th-and-1 in the first quarter on Texas’ opening drive of the contest.
TCU’s next game is this coming Saturday on the road in Waco to take on their in-state rival Baylor. The game will kick off at 11:00 am (CT).
