UTEP Place Kicker Gavin Baechle named Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week

UTEP place kicker Gavin Baechle was named Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week after scoring a season-high 11 points this past Saturday going 5-5 on PATs and 2-2 on FGs in UTEP’s first Conference victory of the season in the Miners' 41-35 win at Charlotte. Baechle extended his streak to 11 consecutive made field goals. Baechle is now 11-12 on field goals in 2022. Baechle leads Conference USA in made field goals (11), attempts (12) and FGM/game at just under 2 (1.8). Baechle currently ranks third nationally in field goals made and is tied for eighth in field goals made per game. 

UTEP’s next game will be in Ruston this coming Saturday against Louisiana Tech at 6pm (CT).
