Arlington ISD has started the process of hiring just the fourth football coach in the history of Lamar High School as they look to replace Laban DeLay who departed earlier in April to take the head coaching job at South Grand Prairie.

AISD wants to move quickly on this hire so there was a small pool of candidates brought in for the first round of interviews. That pool included one internal candidate, three current DFW head coaches, two of which have previous ties to the school, and one current DFW assistant coach with head coaching experience on his resume.

Expect a decision to come down as soon as this week.
