Pool A Predicted Order of Finish

  1. Allen
  2. Cy-Fair
  3. Austin Westlake
  4. Laredo Nixon

Allen enters the tournament as one of the favorites, the Eagles haven’t taken a 7-on-7 loss this summer and sophomore QB Ty Snell has quickly established himself as one of the top young signal callers in the country. Allen will have their hand full in pool play with an always tough Austin Westlake squad headlined by RB Cooper Jones, one of the top freshman prospects in the country. Cy-Fair will be tricky as well with a veteran QB and two outstanding WR’s on the outside in Henry Brooks and Kevin Ferrygood. Laredo Nixon enters the State Tournament as a big underdog who will be looking to play spoiler.

Pool B Predicted Order of Finish

  1. Cy Falls
  2. Dripping Springs
  3. Argyle
  4. Weslaco

Cy Falls is loaded with speed across the board the Golden Eagles expect to use that speed advantage to emerge with the top slot in this tough pool. WR’s Andre Lewis and Murry Charles headline the offense while ATH Liam Madkins is a force on both sides of the ball. Dripping Springs graduated two FBS WR’s but the Tigers get the nod over a short-handed Argyle squad who will be without Texas Tech commit WR Julian Caldwell, QB Hayes Hackney will need to rely on his other weapons for the Eagles. Weslaco is one of the RGV’s better 7-on-7 teams and will be a solid contender as well.

Pool C Predicted Order of Finish

  1. Dickinson
  2. PSJA North
  3. Arlington Lamar
  4. Killeen Ellison

If you like freaky good athleticism this might be the pool for you! Dickinson combines sensational playmakers across the board with veteran experience at QB with Lorenzo Aguirre, that gives the Gators the edge in this pool. On the surface, picking PSJA North to finish second seems crazy, but the Raiders have made some great runs in College Station in the past. Watch out for TE Jaxon Evans and FS Jason Almanza. Arlington Lamar is a traditional 7-on-7 powerhouse, they feature elite playmaking at the skill spots, if their young sophomore QB is on target the Vikings will be a threat. Killeen Ellison is making their State 7-on-7 debut, the Eagles are very athletic, but how will they fare against teams who feature 7-on-7 savvy combined with good athletes.

Pool D Predicted Order of Finish

  1. Lake Travis
  2. Fort Bend Hightower
  3. Cedar Hill
  4. Abilene Cooper

Perennial powerhouse Lake Travis has had a parade of FBS QB’s come through the program, which means when it comes to 7-on-7 the Cavs have a huge edge. Junior QB Jason Carter, who played WR as a sophomore moves into that role piloting the LTHS attack, keep an eye on sophomore WR Tatum Gold who could be a breakout player at the tournament. Hightower and new QB, Oklahoma State commit Carson White can go playmaker for playmaker with anyone, if the ‘Canes young secondary group has a good weekend, they could  play for a while. Cedar Hill’s looking to carry the flag for the southern sector of Dallas County, WR Braylon Caston is a force, while junior QB Jaiden Mitchell continues to improve. Abilene Cooper will look to play the spoiler role in what expects to be a tough pool.

Pool E Predicted Order of Finish

  1. Pflugerville Weiss
  2. Katy Tompkins
  3. Colleyville Heritage
  4. El Paso Eastlake

Weiss enters this pool as the favorite, the Wolves are loaded with skill talent led by Washington commit WR Tre Moore, WR Jordan Anderson, QB Jaxon Schad and junior LB Tylan Henderson. Not only is Weiss the pool favorite, but they are among the teams to beat in the entire tournament. Tompkins led by Michigan commit CB Blake Jenkins and RB Ethan Meadows will be a threat if the Falcons can play consistently like they did in the College Station SQT. Colleyville Heritage sophomore QB Lane Vargas is a guy who could breakout, he’s got two sensational playmakers on the outside in WR Trevi Preische and WR Lucas Sunwall. El Paso Eastlake will look to be a spoiler as senior QB Julian Williams leads the Falcons.

Pool F Predicted Order of Finish

  1. San Antonio Johnson
  2. Klein
  3. Keller Central
  4. Round Rock

San Antonio Johnson comes into the State Tournament as the Alamo City’s best chance at contending in a long time. The Jaguars are absolutely loaded on offense with QB Elvis Estrada leading the charge along with star 2029 WR Braelyn Allen. Oklahoma commit Mikhail McCreary leads a speedy and athletic group in the secondary. Klein’s been sneaky good in tournament play this summer, QB Carter Lattelle is back healthy and he’s been tearing it up. ATH Mike Brown is one of the most dynamic playmakers around as well. Keller Central is led by their dynamic duo of junior QB Isaiah Taylor and his twin brother ATH Jeremiah Taylor, the Chargers can score with the best of them. Round Rock won the title in 2024, but failed to qualify last year, so we know when the Dragons make the State Tournament, they are absolutely capable of doing damage.

Pool G Predicted Order of Finish

  1. Frisco Panther Creek
  2. The Woodlands
  3. Laredo United
  4. Temple

This is an absolute blockbuster of a pool as two of last year’s champions reside in this group. Panther Creek has won sixteen straight tournament games dating back to last year and even though they are moving up to Division I after winning the Division II crown a year ago, they’ll be in the mix with WR Sukora “Sip” Cooper leading the way.  Defending Division I champion The Woodlands graduated heavy on the defensive side of the ball, but the Highlanders look to simply be reloading once again. Laredo United is a deep sleeper led by one of the state’s most underrated WR’s in Colt Lozano, he’s worth the price of admission without a doubt. Temple is back at state for the second straight year, the Wildcats are definitely tough led by QB Kylan Baysinger.

Pool H Predicted Order of Finish

  1. Coppell
  2. Conroe Grand Oaks
  3. Tyler Legacy
  4. Edinburg Economedes

Don’t look now, but the Coppell Cowboys could be one of the real favorites to bring home the title this weekend. QB Carter Zingelmann is among the top 2028 prospects in the state, he’s got a cast of veteran playmakers on the outside, while CB Jaden Bibbs is one of the state’s most underrated cover corners. Conroe Grand Oaks and Tyler Legacy should be a very interesting battle for the other spot in the championship bracket. Grand Oaks is led by speedy WR Darnell Jackson, while Tyler Legacy has a core of under the radar playmakers on the outside who could be poised to make an impact. Edinburg Economedes was the last team to enter the field, the Jaguars are looking to surprise in their state tournament debut.

Pool I Predicted Order of Finish

  1. Amarillo Palo Duro
  2. The Woodlands College Park
  3. North Forney
  4. Tyler

There’s some real firepower in this pool, Palo Duro out of the Texas Panhandle gets the edge as the Dons have QB Julian Reese and WR Kyron Brown leading the way along with some young and underrated players in the secondary. The Woodlands College Park is right there in the mix with Cincinnati commit QB Camden Hughes and WR Julian Cromartie. There won’t be a team in this pool that’s more athletic across the board than North Forney, Texas commit WR Briceson Thrower is the Falcons headliner, but who will be the guy who takes the snaps? Tyler has their own big-time WR with SMU commit Trey Haralson, but the Lions have questions at several other spots with youth. This will be one of the must-stop pools for any neutral fans in attendance.

Pool J Predicted Order of Finish

  1. Waller
  2. Mansfield Timberview
  3. Beaumont West Brook
  4. Wichita Falls Legacy

This is a very intriguing pool that doesn’t feature a team that is a heavy favorite, so expect all the games in this group to be very competitive. Waller gets the edge as the team to beat with junior QB T.K. Gaines piloting the Bulldogs attack, in the 7-on-7 game having that dynamic leader is a huge edge. Timberview when playing to their paper can beat any team in the field, but the Wolves haven’t always been the most consistent. Tulsa commit WR Trysten Shaw leads a talented group of playmakers and junior QB Steven Hall has shown great leadership and the ability to put the ball wherever is needed. Beaumont West Brook is fully capable of doing big things as well with QB Tam Anderson leading a very talented group of young Bruins looking to make an impact.

Pool K Predicted Order of Finish

  1. Killeen Shoemaker
  2. Lake Highlands
  3. El Paso Andress
  4. Huntsville

Pool K is one of the more wide open pools in the Division I bracket, three relative newcomers to the State 7-on-7 tournament along with Lake Highlands who made a great run a year ago in their first appearance. Shoemaker beat mighty DeSoto to qualify and the Grey Wolves have speed to burn with WR Tano Wooten and RB Josiah Walker. Lake Highlands graduated heavy but the Wildcats still have elite front-line talent with Boston College commit ATH Franklon Evans leading the offense and maybe the top pair of LB’s in the tournament in Israel Evans and Chris Theriot. El Paso Andress is the first 4A to qualify in Division I since 2017, the Eagles are not afraid to go blow for blow with the big dogs with QB Jamari Milton and DB Elijah Cooper leading a talented group. Huntsville is led by QB Zay Adolphe who is among the most exciting players in the entire field.

Pool L Predicted Order of Finish

  1. Argyle Liberty Christian
  2. Round Rock Cedar Ridge
  3. Katy Freeman
  4. Laredo LBJ

After a deep run a year ago in their State 7-on-7 debut, Argyle Liberty Christian is back led by five-star TE/LB Cooper Witten. RB Correll Buckhalter is a force as well, so don’t be surprised if Liberty Christian finds themselves in the championship bracket once again. Round Rock Cedar Ridge is back at the State Tournament for the first time since 2017, they’ll go as far as QB Dylan Snoga takes them and they are the early favorite to finish as the two seed. Katy Freeman will make their varsity debut this fall, they’ll look to play spoiler along with Laredo LBJ who is in the State Tournament for the second straight year.

Pool M Predicted Order of Finish

  1. Willis
  2. Beaumont United
  3. Plano
  4. Wichita Falls Memorial

Willis made a run all the way to the semifinals a year ago led by the incomparable Jermaine Bishop, they’ll be out to prove they can continue to reload led by outstanding sophomore QB Lincoln Frazier who had a monster freshman season. Beaumont United made their first ever playoff appearance a year ago, the Timberwolves are keeping that momentum going with a strong summer. Plano is back at the State Tournament for the second straight year, the Wildcats are led by junior QB CJ Smith. Wichita Falls Memorial made the most of their one opportunity to qualify as the Mavs went 4-0 at their own SQT, QB Cole Birkhead has waited his turn patiently and he’s looking to make the most of his shot to lead the offense as a senior.

Pool N Predicted Order of Finish

  1. Humble Atascocita
  2. Bastrop
  3. Alamo Heights
  4. Everman

Playing in their first State Tournament since 2021, Atascocita brings a super talented group to the table with Oklahoma commit CB Trenton Blaylock, Houston commit S Tavon Bolden, Texas State commit WR Brian Manuel and North Texas commit Isaiah “Rocket” Rasheed leading the charge. Sophomore WR Jeremiah Vincent could be the breakout star of the tournament and new signal caller Corbin Smejkal could be key if the Eagles want to make a run. Bastrop may have the best QB in the tournament as the Bears are led by Arizona State commit QB Weston Nielsen, WR Dallas Crescenzo is back after missing half of 2026 and they should have enough to hold off upstart Alamo Heights and surprising Everman who is led by QB Kendrick Kennedy.

Pool O Predicted Order of Finish

  1. Cy Ranch
  2. Austin Anderson
  3. Arlington
  4. Mercedes

Cy Ranch is another team that could be Houston’s best hope for a deep run, Houston commit QB Braden Baker is the pilot of a ridiculously talented offense that features WR Manny Leyja and RB’s Khristian White and Champ Blaylock. The secondary is loaded with talent with Rice commit CB Jacob Lee and 2029 S Antonio Murray who is considered one of the state’s top young defensive back prospects. Austin Anderson is back at the State Tournament once again, the Trojans were the runner-up in 2024 and made a good push a year ago, QB Covert Darbyshire is a potential breakout star for AHS while WR Jay Fullmer is capable of making plays all over the field. Arlington has 2028 WR Kason Brown leading the charge for the offense, while Boston College commit CB Semajai Davis leads the Colts secondary.

Pool P Predicted Order of Finish

  1. Killeen Harker Heights
  2. DeSoto
  3. El Paso Eastwood
  4. Gregory-Portland

At first glance, one would list DeSoto as the favorite in this pool, after all the Eagles have as much 7-on-7 pedigree as anyone in the field and they typically excel on the big stage, but the Eagles have some questions with youth on offense. Star RB SaRod Baker, a Texas Tech commit won’t be in attendance at the State Tournament so younger players will have to carry the load. That could open the door for Harker Heights led by QB Hudson Humble and UTSA commit WR Ryan Taylor. ATH Arshawn Spann is another dangerous player as well for the Knights who actually get the nod over DeSoto win the pool. Eastwood could play spoiler, QB Kingston Jeffries leads a team that’s battle tested and is not afraid of a challenge. Gregory-Portland, the lone qualifier from the Coastal Bend will look to play the role of spoiler.
