North Crowley 2027 CB John Meredith III has announced his commitment to Texas over offers from Texas A&M and Alabama.
The DCTX five-star is rated as the No. 1 prospect in the Lone Star State.
At 6-foot-2, 175 pounds, Meredith brings elite size to the boundary and plays the position with a chip on his shoulder. He should remind fans of former TXHSFB star Christian Gonzalez, who played in the Super Bowl for the New England Patriots.
Meredith is the kind of corner who can and will erase his side of the field.
High school offenses rarely even challenge him, and when they do, he makes them pay. He proved that on the national stage at the Under Armour Next All-America Game, coming away with an interception against elite competition.
Meredith is a significant recruiting victory for Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns as they continue to stake elite talent in 2027.
