2027 is loaded with sons of Texas high school football head coaches who can play at the next level.

DB Cornelius Anthony II (5'11, 180) - Fort Bend Hightower

Anthony has become one of the defensive leaders for his father, Hightower head coach Cornelius Anthony, flying to the football and producing 75 tackles and 12 TFLs last season. The second-team all-district selection is drawing increasing recruiting attention and projects as a next-level prospect.

TE Camden Ables (6'4, 235) - Hawley

Ables has already pledged to Tarleton State and ranks among the state's top tight end prospects, checking in at No. 9 in the DCTX rankings. The son of Hawley head coach Mitch Ables creates matchup problems with his size and athleticism, hauling in 45 receptions for 792 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior.

WR Jake Brittain (6'3, 185) - Angleton

Brittain brings an intriguing blend of size, speed and toughness to the field for his father, Angleton head coach Jason Brittain. A state qualifier in the 400-meter dash, he stretches defenses vertically while also standing out as one of the area's most physical blockers. His younger brother, 2029 LB John David Brittain, is another name to know.

OL Cooper Doty (6'2, 275) - Stephenville

Doty helped create a special family memory last season, winning a 4A Division II state championship alongside his father, Stephenville head coach Sterling Doty. The all-state offensive lineman has amassed a double-digit offer list, including FBS opportunities from UTEP, Air Force, Army and Navy.

ATH Kobe Haynes - Whitney

Haynes helped his father, Whitney head coach David Haynes, guide the Wildcats to a 10-3 campaign and one of the program's most memorable seasons. The DCTX four-star and recent TCU pledge is among the state's most productive athletes, accounting for more than 1,400 passing yards, 1,400 rushing yards and 600 receiving yards.

QB Hudson Humble (6'0, 180) - Harker Heights

The newest DCTX three-star in the Class of 2027, Humble operates the Harker Heights offense with efficiency and poise. Playing for his father, head coach Mark Humble, he completed more than 75 percent of his passes for 3,478 yards and 36 touchdowns while earning offers from Lamar and Jackson State.

"Playing quarterback for my dad at a Texas 6A program means more to me than I can put into words," Hudson said. "I've been on the sidelines and in championship-level locker rooms with him since I was born, it's all I've ever known, and I've dreamed about this season of life for as long as I can remember."

"There's definitely pressure that comes with it, but I wouldn't want to be led by anyone else. He's built different. He's an elite coach who pushes everyone around him to be better, and because of him, I've learned what it takes to lead, compete, and chase excellence every day."

QB Mack Lineweaver (6'0, 190) - Euless Trinity

Lineweaver continues to build recruiting momentum after a strong performance at the Elite 11 Regional in Dallas. The son of Euless Trinity head coach Aaron Lineweaver is known for his accuracy, decision-making and ability to create when plays break down, recently adding an offer from OBU.

WR Eric Mims Jr. (6'1, 195) - Amarillo Palo Duro

Mims Jr. is one of the state's most versatile offensive weapons. Playing for his father, Palo Duro head coach Eric Mims, he caught 18 passes for 256 yards and 3 touchdowns. Concord and West Texas A&M have recently joined his offer list.

QB Seth Neatherlin (6'0, 185) - Corpus Christi Carroll

Neatherlin has earned praise around the program for his leadership and work ethic while developing under the guidance of his father, Corpus Christi Carroll head coach Cal Neatherlin, who played QB at UMHB. He completed 57 of 102 passes for 816 yards and 13 touchdowns during the 2025 season.

QB Jerry Prieto (6'0, 185) - Dayton

A four-year starter and one of the state's most experienced quarterbacks, Prieto continues to add recruiting traction with recent offers from McPherson and Southeastern. Playing for his father, Dayton head coach Jerry Prieto, he completed 110 of 180 passes for 1,503 yards and 14 touchdowns while rushing for 302 yards and seven scores.

ATH Kaden Tolleson (5'11, 200) - Denton Ryan

Tolleson arrives at Denton Ryan as the son of newly appointed head coach Shane Tolleson. Raiders fans will quickly fall in love with his production and toughness. The DCTX three-star impacts the game on both sides of the ball (RB/LB) and pairs a physical style with 10.75 100-meter speed. Offers from North Texas, UTSA, Arkansas State, Bowling Green, Navy and others continue to roll in.
