Welcome to Texas, World.

Here's your guide to some insane Texas-Sized Stadiums to visit while you're here for the World Cup in Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston.

DFW

Allen Eagle Stadium: It’s among the most famous stadiums in the country, partly because of its size (18,000 seats), but it has a great horseshoe design that rivals many college stadiums. It's home to the largest high school in Texas.

Farrington Field: A historical landmark tucked into the Cultural District of Fort Worth, it seats 18,000 and was built in 1939. Hundreds of big games have been played at the crown jewel of Fort Worth high school football over the decades. The city and FWISD is unsure of what’s next for the aging facility, so go see her while you can!

Mesquite Memorial Stadium: Originally built in 1976 with a capacity of 20,000, Memorial has undergone renovations in recent years to upgrade the facility and capacity now sits at 19,400. But it has all the modern amenities you would want. In addition, the iconic Mesquite radio tower sits just beyond the south end zone making it a unique experience. It looks like something from space.

Glaspie Field: Since the World Cup is being played in Arlington, why not check out the newest stadium in the city located on the campus of Martin High School? With a capacity of 10,000, the stadium’s unique design puts you close to the action no matter what seat you are in!

WO Barnes Stadium: If you want the feel of an old school English football stadium, tucked away in a neighborhood with tight quarters, one of the state’s most underrated gems is the home field of the Castleberry Lions. Think of it as Craven Cottage for TXHSFB fans.

HOUSTON

Cy-Fair FCU: An absolute palace in Northwest Houston, Cy-Fair FCU Stadium is one of two stadiums for the dozen high schools in Cy-Fair ISD. The arena in the south end zone holds in the noise, so this stadium for big playoff games can have deafening noise.

Courville Stadium: Built in 1948, the Ball High school's stadium is named in honor of the late Kermit Courville, the district's first Black athletic director. In 2023, the historic stadium on Galveston Island went through a complete transformation and is now a modern facility that retains its old school charm right in the middle of Galveston.

Sheldon ISD Panther Stadium: One of two absolutely stunning stadiums right off the Beltway in Houston, Sheldon ISD Panther Stadium is a jewel on the Eastside. The modern facility, which seats 10,000, hosts numerous playoff games every fall.

Thorne Stadium: Thorne Stadium was closed for two years in 2022 and 2023 as Aldine ISD completely rebuilt their aging facility. What resulted after the rebuild is one of the most stunning stadiums in all of Texas. Thone Stadium seats over 10,000, is located near George Bush International Airport and has one of the biggest video boards you’ll ever see at a TXHSFB stadium. No wonder this stadium is getting picked to host Class 6A state semifinal games like last year when North Shore and Lake Travis played.

Freedom Field: With the United States in the World Cup and it being our 250th anniversary, no better place to see that Alvin ISD’s Freedom Field just off 288 in Brazoria County. Built in 2018 and with a capacity of 10,000, Freedom Field hosts some of Alvin ISD’s most successful programs in Shadow Creek, Manvel and Iowa Colony.
