Southlake Carroll 2027 OL Tristan Dare (6'4, 290) helped power the Dragons to a dominant 44-6 win over Euless Trinity. The Michigan commit has emerged as one of the state’s top blockers, and he credits offseason work for the team's early success and No. 1 ranking.
"Up front, we took it as a challenge. We respect them a lot, but we wanted to prove it for ourselves," Dare said. "One of the biggest things has been the offseason. Spending mornings together, working on my technique for months, it’s helped a lot. This team has really, really come together."
When asked why he chose Michigan early over programs like Texas Tech, Ohio State and Oklahoma, Dare pointed to more than just football.
"The development, the academics...Michigan really stood out. Football is obviously a big part of it, but my dad and I both felt right at home there with what I experienced. Everything about the program just clicked for me."
Southlake Carroll also features 2026 Ohio State WR commit Brock Boyd, giving Dare and Boyd a friendly rivalry when it comes to The Game.
"Bryce (Underwood) has been steadily getting into it. He’s got all the talent he needs, and with the development he’s getting, he’s going to be ready. We've got Justice Haynes. The offensive line is starting to come together, opening lanes, and the defense is flying around. Rivalries like that are always intense," Dare said just moments after Boyd posed off-camera with an Ohio State towel.
Dare is eventually bound for Ann Arbor, but first, he’s focused on chasing a Texas high school football championship ring...maybe two.
