2024 Lovejoy ILB Payton Pierce (6'2, 225) committed to Ohio State over offers from Texas, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Michigan, Oklahoma and more.
Pierce is rated as the No. 26 prospect in the DCTF Hot 100 and the No. 2 ILB in Texas.
He secured 131 tackles and 21 TFLs to earn 7-5A Division II Defensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore but missed a large portion of his junior season with a hamstring injury.
Lovejoy is excited to have him back to 100 percent.
"Payton is an elite athlete and an elite competitor as well," Lovejoy head coach Chris Ross said. "Umbeliavble person. People see his athletic skill, but his drive to be elite is incredible."
