Texas A&M-Kingsville began 2022 with a seven-game win streak that had Javelina faithful dreaming of the LSC title. However, they closed the year with five consecutive losses, including a 38-21 setback to East Central in the Fun Town RV Heritage Bowl.
What will make A&M-Kingsville a threat to win the title this year is playing the other top contenders, Angelo State and Central Washington, at Javelina Stadium. The Javelinas have been trending up since coach Mike Salinas arrived after the 2019 season, but their meddle will be tested at the end of the season again with road trips to Western Oregon and Midwestern State.
