Class of 2027: Top 10 TXHSFB Defensive Tackle Prospects

1. Jalen Brewster (6'3, 300) - Cedar Hill

Brewster is a DCTX Five Star who earned Utility Player of the Year in District 11-6A, Under Armour All-American Honors and participated in the Polynesian Bowl.

He’s currently committed to Texas Tech but has shown interest in programs like Indiana, Ohio State, Oregon, Florida and Miami (OV).

2. George Toia (6'2, 300) - Byron Nelson

Toia racked up 39 tackles, 12 TFLs and seven sacks last season and participated in the Polynesian Bowl.

He has narrowed his recruitment down to eight schools; Michigan, Texas Tech, LSU, Penn State, Texas, Oklahoma, Oregon and Auburn are all in the mix. 

3. Ezekiel Ayangbile (6'4, 270) - Langham Creek

Ayangbile totaled 50 tackles, eight TFLs and three sacks, earning First-Team All-District Honors in 16-6A and participated in the Navy All-American Bowl. 

He has official visits scheduled with Ohio State, Kentucky, Arizona State, Virginia Tech (dad played there) and Miami. 

4. Amari Vickerson (6'4, 290) - Cypress Ranch

Vickerson acquired 52 tackles, 10 TFLs and four sacks, earning First-Team All-District Honors in 16-6A. 

He is currently committed to SMU but has an official visit scheduled to Michigan State (dad played there). 

5. Khyren Haywood (6'1, 255) - Denton Guyer

Haywood totaled 61 tackles, 24.5 TFLs and 11.5 sacks, earning District 5-6A Defensive Player of the Year and Under Armour All-American Honors.

He has official visits scheduled with Colorado, Northwestern, Stanford, Kansas State and Arizona. Mississippi State and Texas Tech are two others to watch.  

6. Raiden Cook (6'6, 270) - Barbers Hill

Cook racked up 39 tackles, 10.5 TFLs and 2.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries through eight games, earning Defensive Lineman MVP Honors at the Rivals Camp in Houston.

He’s currently committed to Houston but has racked up offers from Texas Tech, Kentucky and Texas (OV). 

7. K'Adrian Redmond (6'4, 305) - DeSoto

Redmond racked up 78 tackles, 17 TFLs and one sack, earning First-Team All-District Honors in 11-6A.

He is committed to Texas Tech. 

8. Jason Johnson (6'4, 285) - Humble Atascocita

Johnson acquired 50 tackles, eight TFLs, six sacks and one interception, earning First-Team All-District Honors in 23-6A.

He has narrowed his recruitment down to 10 schools; Houston, Texas Tech, TCU, Stanford, SMU, Vanderbilt, Texas, Florida, Arkansas and Texas A&M are all in the mix. 

9. DeMarco Jenkins (6'3, 265) - Pearland

Jenkins totaled 45 tackles, 10 TFLs and six sacks, earning First-Team All-District Honors in 22-6A.

He has official visits scheduled with SMU, TCU, Miami and Texas.

10. Brayden White (6'3, 300) - Shepherd

White collected 8.5 sacks and 12 TFLs while starring on both sides of the ball to earn First-Team 9-4A DII All-District honors. 

He has official visits scheduled with Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma State and Mississippi State.
