Hutto ISD announced on Friday that head coach Eli Reinhart would be stepping down from his post after one season and will pursue an offensive coordinator opportunity at an unnamed Division II program.
Reinhart posted a solid 9-3 record in 2025, leading the Hippos to their first playoff victory at the 6A level and first postseason win since 2019.\
Reinhart may be best known in Texas for his stint as the offensive coordinator at North Crowley where he helped build the Panthers into a state power under the leadership of Ray Gates, who recently joined the coaching staff at the University of North Texas. The Panthers explosive offensive unit led by Reinhart was key in a 16-0 record and the 2024 Class 6A-Division I state title.
Expect Hutto ISD Superintendent Jeni Neatherlin and Athletic Director Will Compton to move quickly on this job opening and have the position posted as quickly as possible. Hutto will be opening a second high school in 2027, but the Hippos expect to field a strong team in 2026.
Expect plenty of interest statewide in this opening given the strong reputation of the administration at Hutto as being builders and athletic friendly.
