Attendance trends provide a metric to track momentum, or lack thereof, inside a football program. Using the data from D1ticker.com, we’ve compiled numbers from the 2025 season and the five-year average trends for each of the 13 FBS programs in the state of Texas. 

Eight of the 13 programs saw an increase in attendance compared to its five-year average. SMU (+31.96 percent) and North Texas (25.18 percent) witnessed the highest increases in the Lone Star State. 

Of the five that experienced a dip in attendance compared to the five-year average, Sam Houston leads the way at 38.98 percent, but that is misleading because the Bearkats didn’t play on campus in 2025 due to construction at Bowers Stadium. UTEP (-36.3 percent) and Baylor (-10.92 percent) suffered the most significant drop-offs in attendance.
