Spring football is on the horizon for the 13 FBS programs in the state of Texas and that means it is time to shift focus toward the 2026 season and rank the 10 best players at each position, continuing with the offensive line.

The Lone Star State sent 10 programs to bowl games and two to the College Football Playoff in a historic year for college teams here in Texas. Five of the 13 finished inside the AP Top 25 and only Baylor, Sam Houston, and UTEP failed to reach the postseason. Nine of the 13 teams finished with a winning record.

Previous Grades: QB | RB | WR | TE

1. Trevor Goosby, Texas

2025 stats: First Team All-SEC, 83.3 PFF Grade, Second Team All-Texas

The Horns' offensive line struggled mightily at times during the 2025 season but Goosby was the bright spot and is a future first-round pick in the NFL Draft. He’s played in 30 games with 15 starts over the past two seasons. The 6-foot-7, 312-pound Melissa native started every game for the Longhorns at left tackle as a sophomore and ended the season as a First Team All-SEC selection. He’s the highest-graded returning offensive tackle in Texas, per PFF. Goosby will protect Arch Manning’s blind spot once again in 2026.

2. PJ Williams, SMU

2025 stats: Second Team All-ACC, 80.0 PFF Grade, Second Team All-Texas

Williams has started 26 games over the last two seasons and 30 times since arriving at SMU ahead of the 2023 season. He was a four-star prospect who began his college career at Texas A&M and was a multiple-time all-district selection at Dickinson High School. Williams was the second-highest-graded offensive tackle in Texas last year behind Goosby and should be a preseason All-ACC selection heading into 2026.

3. Howard Sampson, Texas Tech

2025 stats: Third Team All-Big 12, 72.3 PFF Grade, First Team All-Texas

Sampson started every game at left tackle for a Red Raiders squad that won the Big 12 and reached the College Football Playoff for the first time. He was a PFF All-Big 12 selection in his first season in Lubbock after starting his career at North Texas before moving on to North Carolina. Sampson was on Bruce Feldman’s College Football Freaks List in 2025 and should be again in 2026. Sampson is a future NFL player and is a towering 6-foot-8 and 340 pounds.

4. Shadre Hurst, Houston

2025 stats: First Team All-American Conference, 80.7 PFF Grade (Tulane)

Houston hit home runs along the offensive line in the transfer portal and Hurst is the prize of the bunch. He was a two-time First Team All-American Conference selection while at Tulane and will slide into the starting lineup for the Coogs at one of the guard spots. The Sporting News named him a Second Team All-American in 2025 and he was the ninth-highest-graded offensive lineman in the country last year, per PFF. Hurst was one of the best G5 offensive linemen in the country last year and he’ll transition well into the Big 12.

5. Melvin Siani, Texas

2025 stats: 73.1 PFF Grade (Wake Forest)

Siani was one of Texas’ biggest transfer portal pickups in a loaded class. He’ll start at right tackle for the Horns with Goosby solidified at the left tackle position, which will allow Brandon Baker to move inside to guard. Siani started all 13 games last year at Wake Forest and did not allow a sack while playing 914 snaps.

6. Wilkin Formby, Texas A&M

2025 stats: 70.9 PFF Grade

The Aggies could start as many as four transfers along the offensive line in 2026 with center Mark Nabou Jr. the only starter returning. Formby is a sure-fire starter at one of the tackle spots, or maybe even guard if former five-star Lamont Rogers lives up to the hype. Formby seems like the safest bet for this list out of the group because he’s started 16 games in the SEC and has enough positional versatility to start somewhere for the Aggies. Mike Elko wants to improve as a run blocking unit and Formby is a mauler.

7. Ben Taylor-Whitfield, TCU

2025 stats: 66.7 PFF Grade

Taylor-Whitfield has started 22 games over the last two seasons for the Frogs, including the last four of 2025 at left tackle. He played 891 snaps last season and is one of the more experienced tackles in Texas at the Power Four level. The Duncanville export will leave TCU with over 30 starts under his belt by the end of the year.

8. Kaden Sieracki, Baylor

2025 stats: 62.8 PFF Grade

Baylor’s best offensive lineman is Sieracki, who played nearly 1,000 snaps last season and will be the anchor of the offensive line from one of the tackle spots in 2026. He didn’t allow a sack while allowing only two quarterback hits on the entire season. He was only called for holding four times. Sieracki will be a key piece to an offensive line that needs to protect D.J. Lagway to keep the Florida transfer healthy.

9. Anthony Boswell, Houston

2025 stats: First Team All-MAC, 77.4 PFF Grade (Toledo)

Boswell will likely start at center for the Coogs after grading out as one of the best players at the position last year for Toledo. The jump from the MAC to the Big 12 can’t be ignored, but we think he’ll be fine as the anchor of Houston’s offensive line. Boswell was named a Freshman All-American by The Athletic in 2025 and was the third-highest graded run blocker amongst FBS centers.

10. Joshua Bates, SMU

2025 stats: 70 PFF Grade

The former Oklahoma transfer started all 13 games for SMU at center in 2025, anchoring an offensive line that only allowed 19 sacks and paved the way for a unit that recorded 416.9 yards per game. Bates was an honorable mention All-ACC selection as a sophomore and could be on some preseason All-ACC lists entering 2026. He earned a 79.4 grade as a pass blocker.
