DCTF has confirmed that next season will be a battle of Division III powerhouses, with Trinity meeting Mary Hardin-Baylor and St. John’s during non-conference action.

The eyes of the NCAA Division III football world will have a lot of focus on games involving teams from Texas next season. DCTF has confirmed that Trinity will play Mary Hardin-Baylor and St. John’s. Add in the Crusaders hosting Wisconsin-Whitewater next year, and the state of Texas will be a popular location for the best teams in DIII.

All four programs have combined for 11 national titles. UMHB and Trinity have played each of the last two years, with the Cru winning close battles on each occasion. When the two powers meet in non-conference action is likely to determine the host for the second meeting in the first round of the playoffs.

Wisconsin-Whitewater and UMHB have a tradition of playing fantastic games. The Cru defeated the Warhawks in the 2021 national semifinals en route to the national title. UW-W gave the Cru a rare regular-season defeat in a thrilling 28-24 victory last year. St. John’s was 10-2 last year and defeated the Warhawks in Week 1 last season.
