Jerheme Urban has built Trinity into a national contender. The Tigers have won back-to-back Southern Athletic Association titles and are primed to make a run at their third consecutive title in 2023. They return 40 seniors and 15 ‘Super Seniors,’ who are players exercising their extra year of eligibility from the pandemic. That includes Graham product Tucker Horn at quarterback for the third consecutive season.
The Tigers have a challenging non-conference schedule and open the season with a trip to Minnesota to play St. John’s. Trinity returns home for a Week 2 showdown with Mary Hardin-Baylor. The Crusaders have knocked the Tigers out of the DIII playoffs the previous two seasons. However, the losses have been by a combined 17 points. Could this be the year for Trinity? We’ll know the answer in November.
