Five stars. Five days. Five future faces of Texas football.

Welcome to "Five-Star Week," presented by Dick's Sporting Goods, where Dave Campbell's Texas Football will count down the top five players in the Class of 2027 with one five-star revealed each day.

So far we've named Argyle Liberty Christian OLB Cooper Witten at No. 5, Kingwood OT Kennedy Brown at No. 4, Richmond Randle RB Landen Williams-Callis at No. 3 and Cedar Hill DT Jalen Brewster at No. 2.

Our countdown concludes with the elite of the elite, North Crowley CB John Meredith III.

Meredith is one of the state’s five most offered prospects and is strongly considering programs like Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama and Ohio State.

At 6-foot-2, 175 pounds Meredith brings elite size to the boundary and plays the position with a chip on his shoulder. He should remind fans of former TXHSFB star Christian Gonzalez, who just starred in the Super Bowl for the New England Patriots.

Like Gonzalez, Meredith is the kind of corner who can erase his side of the field.

High school offenses rarely even challenge him — and when they do, he makes them pay. He proved that on the national stage at the Under Armour Next All-America Game, coming away with an interception against elite competition.
