Rockwall ISD is expected to name Allen native and current head coach of the Fayetteville, AR Bulldogs Casey Dick as the next head football coach at Rockwall-Heath on Thursday, pending board approval.
Dick replaces Rodney Webb who announced his retirement just after UIL Realignment in early February.
Dick, who is best known to most football fans as the former quarterback of the Arkansas Razorbacks, has spent the last seven years leading one of Arkansas’ most powerful programs in Fayetteville High where he has compiled a 55-28 record, including leading Fayetteville to the Arkansas 7A state championship in 2022 (Fayetteville has an enrollment of over 2,800 which is the equal of a Texas 6A program).
Prior to arriving at Fayetteville, Dick spent one season at Van Buren High School in Arkansas in 2018 where he led VBHS to their first playoff appearance since 2000; he also led Van Buren to a first-round playoff win in that season.
The new Rockwall-Heath HC spent time as an assistant coach at Bentonville West in Arkansas and his first coaching position after his playing career ended was an assistant coach at Trophy Club Nelson under former Bobcats head coach Brian Polk ,who now works at the THSCA. Polk was an assistant coach at Allen where Dick played under Allen head coach Joe Martin, who is now the president of the THSCA.
Rockwall-Heath’s new head coach takes over a team that’s on the rise after posting an 8-4 record in 2025. The Hawks play in 10-6A, which is one of the state’s most competitive districts.
One note about 10-6A is defending district champion North Forney is coached by Dick’s former high school teammate and former college roommate Marcus Shavers.
