Breaking down Texas Tech's 2026 recruiting class.

Class Grade: A

The Texas Tech recruiting train keeps rolling as the Red Raiders signed an epic recruiting class that mirrors their success on the field, ranking No. 19 nationally per 247Sports. They signed the top-rated offensive lineman in Texas (see more below), and the class got a huge boost when five-star DE LaDamian Guyton reclassified from 2027 to 2026. Up and down their commit list are football playin' dudes.

Three Key Additions

Who were the highest-rated signees or prospects who might come in and make a significant impact?

OL Felix Ojo (6'6, 275) - Mansfield Lake Ridge: The Dave Campbell's Texas Football Rising Coverboy picked Tech over Texas and Ohio State on his birthday in one of the cycle's most shocking decisions. With an 82-inch wingspan and a strong football pedigree, Ojo could develop into a first-round pick.

DE LaDamion Guyton (6'3, 225) - Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine Military School: This pure pass-rushing terror is rated as a consensus five-star prospect and does most of his damage as a stand-up EDGE. He will be joined in Lubbock by his teammate, three-star QB Stephen Cannon.

S Donovan Webb (6'0, 182) - Frisco Panther Creek: Webb made his commitment to Texas Tech during a live commitment ceremony on DCTX and checks in as the state's top-rated safety. He is a great tackler with tremendous range.

Hometown Hero

What prospect was a fan favorite or a local hero who starred near the campus?

WR Chase Campbell (6'1, 180) - Wolfforth Frenship: There may not be a prospect with a higher upside in the class, as Campbell can take over games completely. He is a smooth route-runner with sticky hands, making tough catches look easy.

Super Sleeper

We pick one prospect on the commit list and explain how he might outplay his ranking in college.

DT Krush Johnson (6'2, 280) - Amarillo Tascosa: We are going to stay out in West Texas with this pick. Johnson is one of the more under-the-radar talents in the class and exhibits the ability to control the line of scrimmage and be a run-stopping enforcer.
