Willis 2028 LB Nazeree Guy (6-2, 200) had a huge week on the recruiting trail, powered by a breakout performance in a 12-7 win over Spring Westfield, where he was named the RISING Player of the Game.

Throughout the game, Guy was a constant terror, pressing the action and flying around the field to make plays.

Willis Head Coach Trent Miller started to see him step into stardom in the playoffs during his sophomore campaign.

"Down the stretch in district play and into the playoffs, we would package him where we'd bring him in on third-and-longs and just let him go get the quarterback," Miller said. "His ball get-off and the strength he was able to use to rip through offensive tackles down the stretch is what made us go, 'Oh, wow. This kid is figuring it out, and he's going to be special.'"

That confidence carried over into the offseason, when Guy concentrated on adding muscle and improving his game.

"Then fast-forward to spring ball, where he kind of puts it all together," Miller said. "We realized very quickly, 'Hey, this kid can cover, too. Maybe he shouldn't be a two-point-stance defensive end. Maybe he should be an outside linebacker.' He's kind of just taken off from there.

"The kid is just a freak. In the 3-4 scheme we run, he's the perfect edge/outside linebacker. He can drop in coverage, rush the quarterback. He's a real good one, man. A total package. And fortunately, he's only a junior, so we've got him for another year."

Offers flowed in from programs like North Texas, UNLV, Tulane, Rice and Colorado State, but after major programs got a look at his junior tape, they quickly fell in love.

This week alone, he has added new offers from Texas, Texas Tech, Houston, Baylor and UTSA.

The Longhorns kicked off the offer parade while Guy was on an unofficial visit to see Texas play Texas State, with a Willis assistant coach helping him get to Austin and reporting back on how it went.

"He said, 'Coach, we walked in, we get checked in, make eye contact with the linebackers coach. He walked right over and says, 'Naz, you've got an offer from the University of Texas. Congratulations,''" Miller said.

"He said you could see the kid just light up. It was like the coolest thing on earth. I mean, hey, it's the University of Texas, right? But for it to happen the way it happened was phenomenal.

"Then Sunday, I'm out at the Little League baseball park. I get a call from Texas Tech. I get a call from Baylor. I get a call from Houston, all within a matter of 30 minutes. 'Hey, what can you tell me about this kid? Send me his number. I want to offer.'

"Then it's one phone call after another. 'Hey, Texas Tech is fixing to call.' Fifteen minutes later, 'Naz, Houston is fixing to call.' Fifteen minutes later, 'Hey, Naz, Baylor is fixing to call.'

"The kid is just on cloud nine right now, man. That kid deserves everything good that's coming to him because of the human being he is and the work that he's put in to get there," Miller said.

The new offers this week pushed Guy’s offer tally to 13.
