2027 RB SaRod Baker - DeSoto

On a day loaded with prospects at the Cotton Bowl, SaRod Baker stood out as the alpha of the day. Moving to the quarterback position to help his team out, Baker led DeSoto to a 21-20 upset of Duncanville rushing for 122 yards and three scores and adding 88 yards passing. Baker’s exploits are well known by most and he’s a physically gifted back, but what sets him apart is his motor and mentality which is second to none. - Matt Stepp

2027 TE Elliott Brown - Prosper

The Sam Houston commit has become the top-producing offensive weapon in the Eagles’ highly productive passing attack. He looks about 20-25 pounds heavier than he did a year ago while retaining his speed. Prosper lines him up in various ways, allowing him to be a key component of the attack in both the rushing and passing games. He checks in as a DCTX three-star and the No. 6 TE in the state, but he is due for a bump in the positional rankings.

2029 CB Braylen Cunningham - North Crowley

Cunningham is already very experienced for such a young player after making an immediate impact as a freshman and entering his sophomore season playing like he has something to prove. He already has offers from Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, TCU, SMU, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State and more. He collected two interceptions in the win over Southlake Carroll while matching up with senior receivers committed to P4 programs.

2027 DT Logan Draper - Spring Westfield

The Arizona commit was a bit of an unknown commodity entering the season after missing 2025 due to injury, but Draper helped anchor a Westfield defensive front that was dominant throughout the game. While he possesses the size to be a run-stopping specialist, he also showed the ability to get behind the line of scrimmage and make tackles.

2028 WR Trey Finney - Willis

Finney is one of the nation’s most heavily offered slot receiver prospects and had the tough task of stepping into the shadow of five-star ATH Jermaine Bishop, one of the most legendary playmakers to ever suit up in the Houston area. While the game was extremely tough sledding for both offenses, Finney showed off his explosive playmaking ability, including short-area explosiveness and strong hands.

2028 OT Zion Guevara - Austin Westlake

The giant left tackle has a cool and unique story, entering his junior season with virtually no football playing experience before quickly becoming a valuable member of the team while protecting the blind side of QB Patton Jones. Listed at 6-foot-7, 315 pounds, Guevara has the size colleges covet and should only continue to improve his stock game by game. He already has offers from Houston and Utah State and took an unofficial visit to Texas for the Ohio State game.

2027 DB Tony Guillory - Galena Park North Shore

Florida Atlantic commit Guillory was the defensive MVP of the state title game a year ago and in North Shore’s 23-21 Week 3 win over South Oak Cliff, he flashed the traits that makes him such a unique player as he was tremendous in coverage all game and nabbed an interception. Guillory’s best characteristic may be his ability to tackle, especially in space, he’s a sound tackler who will absolutely strike you.

2028 LB Nazaree Guy - Willis

Guy was DCTX’s pick as Player of the Game following an impressive eight-tackle performance in a 12-7 win over Spring Westfield in the Rising Game of the Week presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods. The stat line does not do him justice, as the 6-foot-3, 200-pounder was flying all over the field and terrorizing the offense throughout the game. He plays with a violent streak and can make plays from sideline to sideline. Schools like Texas, Baylor, Houston and Texas Tech all offered following his big-game performance.

2027 S Eli Johnson - Cibolo Steele

Johnson, an Ohio State commit, leads a loaded Steele secondary that features three other FBS verbal commits. He’s a tall and rangy safety who covers a ton of ground and is a sure tackler in run support. He may develop into a box safety at the next level with his size and physicality. Still, Johnson did flash his ability with a long kickoff return into Atascocita territory that set up a touchdown in Steele’s Week 2 loss. - Matt Stepp

2028 OL Ty McCurry - Southlake Carroll

McCurry has taken over right tackle duties for the Dragons, allowing 2027 Missouri commit Tristan Dare to kick inside and play center. Factor in Oklahoma commit Luke Wilson at left tackle, and you can see the OL is built for long-term success. After dropping two in a row to North Crowley and Allen, Dragons fans have something to look forward to as this offensive front continues to gel and establish the run game Carroll is known for.

2027 WR Trysten Shaw - Mansfield Timberview

Shaw is off to an extremely strong start to the 2026 season, including earning Rising Player of the Game honors following the Wolves’ 35-30 upset win over Denton Ryan. He collected 11 catches for 220 yards and two scores, accounting for more than 50% of the team’s total offensive yards in the win. Shaw can be described as slippery, with elite route running and separation creation, but he also has gold-medal track athleticism and an NFL pedigree. He is committed to Tulsa, and the Golden Hurricane are getting an absolute steal.

2027 RB G'Yrell Smith - North Crowley

Texas is loaded with talent, and no player personifies that more than Smith, who is flying under the radar from a rankings perspective. He scored four touchdowns and was named Player of the Game following a dominant win over Southlake Carroll. He is a TD-making machine with quick feet who makes cuts with purpose. North Texas owns his commitment, but he could be in line for some P4 attention if programs are looking to add a back late in the process.

2028 DE Preston Stauts - Mansfield Timberview

The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder was one of the hottest prospects this spring, racking up double-digit offers from Baylor, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Texas Tech and more. It took about two seconds to see why: on the first snap, he made a game-changing play, climbing the ladder to pick off a Denton Ryan pass. Stauts is still growing, but he is extremely athletic for his size and has a world of potential.

2029 WR Jeremiah Vincent - Humble Atascocita

Vincent is a 2029 WR who saw his stock soar during the spring when he picked up offers from North Carolina State, UTSA, Texas State and UNLV. In the Eagles' Week 2 38-23 win over Cibolo Steele, Vincent had a strong game with a pair of rushing touchdowns and several key third-down conversions in the passing game. Vincent showed mature route-running ability and explosiveness with the ball in his hands. - Matt Stepp

2027 DE Tavian Walker - Denton Ryan

After graduating heavily up front, the 6-foot-3, 230-pounder is stepping into the spotlight for the Raiders and uses his quickness and athleticism to keep offensive linemen at a disadvantage. Walker is still looking for his first offer but should arrive on the FBS radar soon.
