DENTON, Texas — Five RISING UNDERCLASSMEN who held their own against elite upperclassmen at the Under Armour Next Camp in Texas and signaled they’re next in line for major recruiting attention.
2028 WR Damarion Mays Jr. - North Crowley: Elite ball winner with a massive frame and catch radius. Displayed sharp footwork and an advanced understanding of how to use length to create separation. Earned a ticket to the Under Armour All-America Game after being named one of the event’s top receivers.
2028 S James Foster III - Lancaster: Arguably the top overall prospect at the event with rare size and verified speed for a defensive back. Made multiple eye-popping interceptions in coverage, flashing elite range and ball skills. Holds offers from virtually every national power. Earned an invite to UA All-America Game.
2029 WR Sukora Cooper Jr. - Frisco Panther Creek: Explosive receiver with 2,500 yards of production and growing confidence. Carried that momentum into camp against older competition. With strong film and camp showings, he is firmly in the mix as a five-star prospect in the 2029 cycle.
2028 ATH Brayden Arnold - Duncanville: Plays on both sides of the football at Duncanville but showcased elite coverage skills paired with great length and size, backing up his recent DCTX four-star ranking and showing that he will continue to pull in elite offers, with Houston, SMU, Penn State and Oregon already on board.
2029 CB Braylen Cunningham - North Crowley: After carving out a role on varsity as a freshman in a defensive back room loaded with more than 125 combined offers, Cunningham backed up the buzz with a strong camp showing. Coaches praised his footwork and long-term upside during drills. Already boasts early offers from Ohio State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, SMU and more.
WR Jordan Thompson-Woods - Waxahachie (WR MVP): Was one of the breakout stars in 11-6A last season and will be the main offensive weapon for Jerry Meyer III in 2026. He could be described as unguardable in one-on-one scenarios in the camp setting. Ole Miss and Colorado State are his first two FBS offers, but more are on the way.
2028 DE Kingston Rodgers – Royse City (DL MVP): Defensive Line MVP powered by a dominant one-on-one session. Displayed a deep pass-rush arsenal that consistently put offensive linemen on their heels. Currently holds offers from UTSA and Texas State, with more expected soon.
2029 WR Steven Harper Jr. - Little Elm: Freshman wideout with outstanding polish at 6-foot-2, 165 pounds. Advanced route runner with size and body control beyond his years. More people should have been buzzing about his camp performance. Offers include Ole Miss, Florida State, SMU and Colorado.
2028 DT Caden Bruton - Nacogdoches: Did not look like an underclassman. Heavy hands, strong at the point of attack and athletic enough to win in space during one-on-ones. Currently holds a UTSA offer, but that will change. Projects near the top of the 2028 DT board.
2028 DE Logan Lokey - Denton Guyer: Turned in one of the weekend’s top one-on-one reps and backed it with consistent drill work. Owns an imposing frame and is beginning to put it all together technically. Holds 12 offers with Oklahoma and Texas Tech leading early. Offer list should expand quickly, from 12 to 30.
2028 WR Dez Bryant Jr. – Southlake Carroll: The son of former Dallas Cowboys standout Dez Bryant is stepping into his own spotlight. Elite speed with a laser-timed 4.46 40-yard dash, but his game is evolving beyond pure athleticism, as he showcased that he has been advancing his route tree. He is hard to handle in space and attacks every play. He is well-positioned to be one of 6A's breakout stars.
2028 OLB Brock Lacy - North Crowley: Showed the ability to lock down running backs in coverage drills built for offensive success. Position versatile. Projects best as a hybrid safety-linebacker or nickel. Double-digit offers include SMU, TCU, Nebraska and Colorado.
