Southland Conference

• UIW announced the addition of multiple transfers, including defensive back Ethan Alexander (North Greenville), defensive back Kendrick Stone (Iowa Western), linebacker Mister Williams (Colorado), linebacker Tylan Foster (College of the Canyons), running back Tim Carter (Navarro), linebacker Caleb Lewis (UTSA), Ayodele Adeoye (Sacramento State), and offensive lineman Alex Costilla (Texas State).
• Houston Christian added another transfer to its roster with the addition of wide receiver Alvin Edney, a graduate transfer from Alcorn State.
• Lamar earned a commitment from 2024 offensive lineman Endrei Sauls, an all-district performer at Temple High School while playing guard and center for the last two years.
• Cyril Penn at Bluebombers.com wrote a piece on former Texas A&M-Commerce defensive lineman Celestin Haba’s journey to the Candian Football League and Winnipeg.
• HCU linebacker Rodney Dansby was selected as a second-team linebacker in the Bluebloods 2023 FCS Preseason All-American Team.
• Zach McKinnell penned a piece for HEROSports.com on the meteoric rise of UIW since they entered the FCS ranks in 2014 with a 58-0 thrashing to North Dakota State during ESPN’s “College Gameday” second trip to Fargo.
• Sam Herder of HEROSports.com wrote a preview of UIW, who begins the season at No. 9 in their 2023 Preseason FCS Top 25. Herder recaps the players the Cardinals have lost to and added from the transfer portal during the offseason.

Southwestern Athletic Conference

• Prairie View A&M coach Bubba McDowell continues to reshape the Panthers' defensive backfield this summer. PVAMU added Malachi Harrison to its roster. Harrison spent last year at Southern Utah.

United Athletic Conference

• Tarleton gained a commitment from defensive lineman Deonte Bryant, who is transferring to the Texans after earning All-American honors at Iowa Central. Bryant recorded 88 tackles, 39.5 tackles for loss, 19 sacks, and four forced fumbles in three seasons with the Tritons.
• UTRGV released a first look at one of the helmets the Vaqueros will use when they hit the field in 2025. 
• Tarleton wide receiver Darius Cooper was named third-team wide receiver in the Bluebloods 2023 FCS Preseason All-American Team.

Lone Star Conference

• West Texas A&M has been adding to its roster this summer, with two more players committing to the Buffs. Offensive lineman Jackson Harrison is signing with WT after graduating from Liberty Hill. The Buffs also added defensive back Jaylin Surrell, who had 83 tackles, three forced fumbles, and three interceptions in two years at Delta College.

American Southwest Conference

• McMurry named Larry Dockery the interim Director of Athletics. Dockery served as wide receivers coach for the War Hawks before transitioning to an operational position. He will be promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director after completing the formal search for a new AD.
• Riley Zayas of TrueToTheCru.com wrote a story on running back Ozias Wright, who is beginning his first season with Mary Hardin-Baylor after transferring from fellow ASC member Sul Ross State.

Southwestern Junior College Football Conference

• Tyler released its 2023 football schedule featuring SWJCFC road games against Trinity Valley, New Mexico Military, Cisco, and Kilgore.
• AU Concepts & Designs released an alternate helmet for Trinity Valley, which features a special throwback decal honoring the school’s time as Henderson County Junior College.
