The son of former Texas Longhorns standout RB Chris Whaley has already emerged as one of the top recruits in the state, earning a spot on the DCTX five-star watchlist and offers from over 20 colleges, including Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Alabama, LSU, and more. Whaley is a two-way threat and could play on either side of the football in college. The son of former Baylor QB and current Columbus assistant coach Odell James, moved over from Corpus Christi Miller after a freshman season that helped land him as one of the Top 25 prospects in the state per the Dave Campbell’s RISING magazine, earning District Newcomer of the Year honors. James is a prospect who could be on the verge of a big breakout in recruiting as he is hunting his first offers.
