The new Jasper head coach also spent four seasons leading Beaumont Central from 2013-2016 where he led that program to four consecutive playoff appearances. He owns a career head coaching record of 70-67.
Foreman, who has been coaching for 25 years, is very familiar with Southeast Texas as he’s a native of Orange and a graduate of West Orange-Stark where he played under legendary head coach Dan Hooks.
“I’m very familiar with the area," Foreman said. "Jasper’s always been a place that has had success over the years. I have a lot of friends from there. Jasper has a lot of great people and it is a great place to live. The people in Jasper know what winning is about. They want to be successful and that support from administration and the community is going to be key. The administration was great during the process. They have high expectations and I want to meet and exceed those expectations.”
Aside from his time as a head coach, Foreman has been an assistant coach with stops at Huntsville, West Orange-Stark, Texas High, La Marque and Baytown Lee.
Foreman says he plans on getting started as quickly as possible because he’s never taken a job this late in the offseason, so he says there will be a sense of urgency.
“I have got to get in there, meet with the kids build that relationship, and se the expectations and begin moving towards our goals," he said. "Obviously, I need to meet with stakeholders on campus and in the community. It’s going to be a very busy few months. Instead of a countdown clock to the first game, we need to have a countdown clock just to get to the next day. We have to go one day at a time and focus on winning the day.
“This summer is going to be huge because of the timing getting hired after spring break. The UIL really saved my life on this one, because we get that time in the summer to get football specific work in, we’ll get to do some install, play some 7-on-7. It’s huge for us and will be very helpful in just getting things established."
With Shoemaker opening up, this will be the second head coaching job in Killeen ISD that has opened up in March as Killeen High opened up earlier this month.
