2025 All-Texas College Football Teams

North Texas' Drew Mestemaker, Texas Tech's Jacob Rodriguez take individual honors on the 2025 All-Texas College Football Teams. At least one player from each of the 13 FBS teams in Texas made the cut.

At least one player from each of the 13 FBS programs in the Lone Star State was named to the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football 2025 All-Texas College Football teams. A total of 56 players were selected with 28 on offense and 28 on defense.

The seven Power Four programs within our borders are represented with 40 selections, led by eight for Texas Tech, seven for Texas A&M, and six for the Texas Longhorns. The six G5 programs have a combined 16 players on the list, led by North Texas’ six selections.

North Texas quarterback Drew Mestemaker was named the DCTF Offensive Player of the Year. The redshirt freshman from Vandegrift High School led the FBS with 317.6 passing yards per game and is the only player in the country with over 4,000 passing yards on the season. His 31 touchdown passes only trail Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza, who might win the Heisman Trophy after leading the Hoosiers to the Big Ten title.

Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez is the DCTF Defensive Player of the Year. He was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and won the Butkus Award and is sure to add more to his trophy case by the end of the season. He led the Red Raiders with 117 tackles this season, including 11 for loss and one sack. He also recorded four interceptions and forced seven fumbles.

There was a three-man race for Coach of the Year honors between Texas Tech’s Joey McGuire, North Texas’ Eric Morris, and Texas A&M’s Mike Elko. An argument can be made that Morris did more with less than the other two, but two historic seasons that will include playoff appearances for Texas Tech and Texas A&M were too much to ignore, so we awarded Elko and McGuire as Co-Coaches of the Year.
