Texas A&M’s incredible 2025 season continued last Saturday with a 38-17 win over Missouri on the road. Next up, the Aggies welcome a struggling South Carolina side to College Station in the penultimate game of the SEC regular season for Texas A&M.
In the Gamecocks, Texas A&M faces one of the most disappointing teams of the 2025 season. South Carolina comes to College Station with a 3-6 record, including just one SEC win. That win came back in September against Kentucky. Since then, South Carolina has lost four straight. The Gamecocks were idle last week.
South Carolina lit up the Aggie defense to the tune of 44 points. A big piece of the Gamecocks' success last year came courtesy of their rushing attack. Rocket Sanders and QB LaNorris Sellers powered South Carolina to almost 300 yards rushing. The good news for the Aggies is that Sellers has struggled mightily in 2025, and Sanders no longer mans the running back position for the Gamecocks.
South Carolina ranks near the bottom of the conference in rushing yards and sacks allowed, leading me to believe the Texas A&M defense is primed for a strong performance. Getting LaNorris Sellers to the ground is still no easy task, but with discipline in the pass rush lanes and multiple guys getting to the passer, I expect a much better stat line than 2024.
