Matchup: Texas A&M vs. Florida

Date: October 11th, 2025

Location: Kyle Field, College Station, Texas

Kickoff: 6:00 pm

Texas A&M kept the momentum rolling last week by winning its second straight SEC game. The victory over Mississippi State may not have been pretty in the first half, but the Aggies finished strong with a commanding 31-9 final.

Next up for the #5 Aggies is a home contest against Florida. The contest comes at a pivotal point in the season, as Texas A&M will not return to Kyle Field until November 15th. Meanwhile, the 2-3 Gators have had a disappointing start to the season but are coming off a massive win at home over the Texas Longhorns.

Florida represents a massive challenge for the Aggie offense, as the Gators boast a rushing defense just outside the top 25 at 26. With Texas A&M relying on the run heavily in SEC play so far, the Aggies may have to switch up their approach to score points on Billy Napier’s squad.

The good news for the Aggies is that they have shown the ability to score points through the air as well, thanks in large part to the dynamic transfer duo of Mario Craver and KC Concepcion. Yards after catch could very well play a massive role in Texas A&M’s success come Saturday, something both Craver and Concepcion excel at.

Additionally, while Florida racked up six sacks on Arch Manning last week, rushing the passer is not something the Gators have been great at outside of the contest with Texas. I expect Marcel Reed to have time in the pocket to pick out his targets at Kyle Field, though this Florida defense will still be challenging to score on.

Finally, the offensive line can’t afford to have multiple drive-killing penalties in this contest. The Aggies will need a clean, mistake-free performance to put up points on the Gators.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Aggies face a significant challenge as well. While DJ Lagway did not impress in the first four games of the season, he lit up Texas, thanks in large part to the addition of Dallas Wilson to this Florida offense.

The Texas A&M secondary will have its work cut out for it against Wilson and will need to force Lagway into making mistakes to limit the damage caused by Wilson.

How can Texas A&M accomplish this task?

The key will be winning on the early downs and forcing Florida into obvious passing situations. That means stifling a Florida rushing attack that found new life last week against Texas. If the Aggies can get Florida behind the chains, they will be able to bring pressure to force Lagway into quick throws or bring him to the ground. Given the improvements we’ve seen from this unit, I expect them to be up to the task.

With Billy Napier not off the hot seat just yet, I expect Florida to come out with a bit of fire. However, Texas A&M can shut them down quickly by jumping out to an early lead. If that happens, I expect the Aggies to take over the game.

I have Texas A&M winning this one 30-15 at home on Kyle Field.
