Class of 2024: Top 10 TXHSFB Running Back Prospects

The Top 10 highest-rated running back prospects in the Lone Star State in the 2024 cycle, including Texas Tech commit J'koby Williams, Oklahoma commit Taylor Tatum, and Duncanville's Caden Durham.

1. Taylor Tatum (5'11, 200) - Longview: As a junior, Tatum rushed for 1,891 yards and 33 touchdowns, earning 7-5A Division I Offensive MVP honors. 

Committed to Oklahoma. 

2. Caden Durham (5'10, 185) - Duncanville: As a junior, Durham rushed for 1,960 yards and 36 touchdowns, winning Offensive MVP honors following Duncanville's 6A Division I state title win. 

Considering: Oklahoma, LSU, Texas A&M

3. James Peoples (5'10, 195) - San Antonio Veterans Memorial: As a junior, Peoples rushed for 1,904 yards and 28 touchdowns, earning 13-5A Division II Co-MVP honors. Has been selected to play in the All-American Bowl. 

Committed to Ohio State.

4. Kedren Young (5'11, 205) - Lufkin: As a junior, Young rushed for 1,666 yards and 19 touchdowns, earning first-team all-district honors. 

Committed to Notre Dame.

5. J'Koby Williams (5'9, 170) - Beckville: Collected 1,664 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns, 718 receiving yards and 11 scores, 31 tackles, four sacks, and six TFLs to earn 10-2A Division I Overall MVP and first-team all-state honors. 

Committed to Texas Tech. 

6. Kewan Lacy (5'11, 195) - Lancaster: As a junior, Payne rushed for 1,002 yards and 13 touchdowns, earning first-team all-district honors. 

Committed to Nebraska.

7. Frankie Arthur (5'10, 200) - Conroe Oak Ridge: As a junior, Arthur rushed for 1,455 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Considering: Baylor, Houston, SMU, Texas Tech, UTSA, Louisville and Oregon

8. Nate Palmer (5'10, 175) - Decatur: As a junior, Palmer rushed for 2,250 yards and scored 33 touchdowns, earning third-team All-State honors. 

Committed to TCU.

9. Bryan Jackson (6'0, 225) - McKinney: As a junior, Payne rushed for 1,605 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Committed to USC.

10. Jeremy Payne (5'10, 170) - Fort Bend Hightower: As a junior, Payne rushed for 1,002 yards and 13 touchdowns, earning first-team all-district honors.
