After just one season in Mexia, Triston Abron is headed back to Northeast Texas as he was named head football coach/athletic director at Pittsburg High School.
Abron has a 28-10 record in three years as a head coach, including a state finalist appearance in 2019 at Omaha Pewitt, which earned him the 2019 DCTF Coach of the Year honors.
He led the Blackcats to a district title and area round playoff appearance in 2020. Mexia had to forfeit their area round playoff game to Sunnyvale due to Covid-19 protocols.
